The Community Foundation for NI is partnering with Community Foundation for Ireland for a new and exciting All Island fund. To find out more about this fund they are inviting you to attend a special VitalTalks on this new fund at 1 pm on Thursday 1st April 2021.

Arnold Clark Community Fund (Final Application Deadline 11.59pm, 31st May 2021

Now open to all UK registered charities and local community groups needing financial assistance due to the coronavirus pandemic. Requests can be made for £100 - £1000. 500 applications will be granted (at random) each month. If your application is unsuccessful one month, they’ll keep you in the draw, which will roll over to the following month.

Wellcome Trust: The Ideas Fund

A grants programme run by the British Science Association and funded by Wellcome, to enable the UK public to develop and try out ideas that address problems related to mental wellbeing. They're offering early stage grants of up to £25,000 and larger grants of around £90,000 in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Hull, North West Northern Ireland, and Oldham.

Delivered by Rosa and Smallwood Trust, the Women Thrive Fund is distributing grants of up to £40,000 to specialist women’s organisations across the UK working to enable women and girls to improve their mental health and wellbeing and/or improve their financial resilience.

The Swimathon Foundation: COVID-19 Relief Fund (Opened 1st February)

The Swimathon Foundation has opened a second Covid-19 Relief Fund to again offer grants of £250 to £1,000 to small swimming and aquatic organisations experiencing continued financial hardship from the effects of Covid-19, especially where access to financial support has not been available.

Causeway Coast and Glens District Council: COVID-19 Community Support Fund

Department for Communities funded, the COVID-19 Community Support Fund is to provide small grants to local community and voluntary organisations to deal with emerging issues in local communities as a result of the continuing threat of coronavirus. Local community/voluntary sector organisations can apply for grants of up to 100% of costs up to £4,000.

REOPENED TODAY Department for Communities (Via Cooperation Ireland): VCSE COVID Recovery Fund

On behalf of the Department for Communities (DfC), Co-operation Ireland in partnership with Rural Community Network is managing this now reopened fund. Grants of up to 5K are available to purchase PPE and other items to enable the re-opening and continued delivery of vital community services.

Dormant Accounts Fund NI will provide grants of up to 100K to support the VCSE sector in NI to be more resilient and prepared for the future by funding activity that increases long term capacity and sustainability.

OFCOM Community Radio Fund: Emergency Funding due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19 Outbreak (Round 3) – closing date 14 January 5pm

The Community Radio Fund was established to help fund the core costs of running a community radio station. Ofcom has been tasked by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (“DCMS”) with administering the fund which provides up to £400,000 per annum.

Grants of up to £50,000 are available, to enable churches and Christian charities to meet changing needs within their communities due to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Charities Fund (Phase 2) (opening 6 January 2021)

The £11.7million fund will open on 6 January 2021 providing up to £75,000 to charities that have lost income due to the impact of Covid-19 and are unable to cover unavoidable costs between 1 October 2020 and 31 March 2021.

Children in Need main and small grants

Main (over £10,000) and Small( under £10,000) Grants programmes are for not-for-profit organisations applying for grants of up to three years. For organisations working with children and young people aged 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through: illness, distress, abuse or neglect, any kind of disability, behavioural or psychological difficulties and/or living in poverty or situations of deprivation.

UPDATE The COVID-19 Charities Fund (Now awaiting full details of re-opening in December)

In its first phase the Fund allocated £8.8m to applicants. A further round will now be opened to applications from charities impacted by the pandemic. This additional funding will provide vital support to charities whose fundraising and trading has stopped or been curtailed because of this pandemic.

A new £400,000 Infrastructure Programme designed to support established and newly emerging Infrastructure organisations that support other local and regional VCSE organisations, networks, groups and/or communities. The overall aim is to help Infrastructure organisations become stronger, more resilient and responsive to the changing environment.

As part of the £29million Covid-19 Culture, Languages, Arts and Heritage Support Programme 2020/2021, this £200,000 fund will be distributed By the National Lottery Heritage Fund on behalf of the Department for Communities.

Department for Communities: Sign Language COVID-19 Support Fund (Closing 5pm, 1st December)

£430,000 of funding is available to support the survival, maintenance and sustainability of the sign language sector impacted by COVID-19 through the support of community based activities and the development of new avenues for participation and engagement through the pandemic.
