Some Updates for This Week

Power NI: Brighter Communities Fund

Power NI has donated £40,000 to community groups since April 2018. The fund exists to make groups shine a little brighter – whether that is with equipment, a revamp of their space or resources for their service users. There is £10K to give away to 10 groups.  Applications are welcomed from small or large communities, sporting, charity and all age groups.

CRC Community Relations/Cultural Diversity Grant

The CRC, with the support of Government, has established an annual fund to help community/voluntary groups throughout NI to develop their capacity to engage in community relations work and to enhance the community relations potential of projects they undertake.  Grants are up to £10K maximum and for project costs only. Average grant is £2K – £5K.

Do It Now Now - Common Call: Fund 2 (Deadline 5pm, 25th June 2021)

Do it Now Now (DINN) is offering grants of £5,000 or £12,500 through Comic Relief’s Global Majority Fund via their Common Call grant fund.  This is financial support for Black-led charities and social enterprises disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 in the UK.  The £300,000 fund includes contributions from Barclays, National Emergencies Trust, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, The Clothworkers’ Foundation and Comic Relief.

Thomas Wall Trust: Digital Skills 2021 Grants Programme

A second year of this new programme running throughout 2021.  Providing grants of up to £5000 for organisations working towards equipping adults with basic digital skills for work and life, helping them access the online world.

Amateo Award (Closing Date 31st May 2021)

The Amateo Award is for creative projects that involve people who participate for the love of it and on an amateur basis.  This includes any  dance, theatre, street art and other participatory arts projects run by amateur groups across Europe.  The winner will win 1,000 euros and a trip to Milan in October 2021.

Raskob Foundation

A Catholic Family Foundation in the USA that makes grants to projects associated with the Catholic Church both in the US and internationally.  Has a particular interest in projects in which self-help and local support are demonstrated.  Need and the good to be accomplished are prime considerations.  Grants tend to be for between $5,000 and $15,000.

Some Key Dates for This Week

National Churches Trust: Grants for Northern Ireland (Application Deadline 1st June 2021)

National Churches Trust' s new Treasure Ireland project provides a new Community Grants Programme which offers your church or chapel funding of between £500 and £10,000 for church maintenance or urgent repair work.

Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA): Environment Fund (Closing Date 1st June 2021)

A £2million Fund for not-for-profit organisations and councils to deliver natural heritage projects that support Covid-19 Recovery and Green Growth across NI.  Grant awards of over £30,000 are on offer with the maximum amount of DAERA funding available under the competition normally being up to 85% of eligible project costs.

King George VI Youth Awards (Application Deadline 3rd June 2021)

The King George VI Youth Awards funds youth work projects in NI for young people aged 14 to 21 up to £500 for travel, sport and equipment. Applications are welcome from both groups and individuals. Youth clubs, voluntary youth organisations and groups can also apply.

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust: Sustaining Support for Armed Forces Communities Programme (Round 1 Deadline, 12 Noon, 4th June 2021)

This programme awards grants of up to £100,000 for existing charitable projects to help charities to sustain activities and services that people from Armed Forces communities use and value.

National Lottery Awards (Nominations Closing Date, Midnight, 7th June 2021)

The National Lottery Awards are an annual search to find the UK's favourite Lottery-funded projects.  Winners in each category receive a £3,000 prize for their project .
