T:BUC Uniting Communities: Uniting Opportunities – new funding opportunity
Uniting Opportunities is the small grants element of the Uniting Communities Programme. It aims to promote good relations and reconciliation through sport and creativity by addressing barriers to community participation that some young people face. It is targeted at the most vulnerable groups of young people in our society (aged 11-24), who would not normally avail of opportunities to participate.
Sir George Earle Benevolent Fund & The Older People’s Fund
The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland is delighted to combine these two funds together, to make up one larger funding stream, to enable them to distribute more grants to older people’s projects in Northern Ireland.
Comic Relief: Smiles Fund by Walkers now open
The Smiles Fund by Walkers and Comic Relief want to support early intervention and community-based approaches which use participation in the arts and comedy to start conversations, promote positive social connections and help people build resilience to tackle life’s everyday challenges. They want to fund proposals which use the arts and comedy to have an intentional (rather than incidental) positive effect on outcomes for people’s mental wellbeing. Please note that this fund is for work with adults only (over 18).
Considers giving grants to registered health charities such as hospitals, hospices and medical organisations for medical related projects, research and training. Partial grants also available for individuals to support medical needs. Applicants from the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland are eligible.
Elsie Pilkington Charitable Trust: Equine Grants & Elderly Grants
The Trust gives approximately 2/3rds to equine charities and 1/3rd to charities supporting older people. The Trust generally awards grants in the region of £2,000 to £5,000

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council: ‘Keep the Ball Rolling’ Fund 2021
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has launched a small grants fund for constituted Sports Clubs and other voluntary groups, as a means to support an area of development within your club. Projects must take place between October 2021 and March 2022.
Closes 4pm on Friday 13 August 2021
Set up in 2013 to support projects that will fix, maintain, improve and repair charitable and community facilities for those in need across the UK, the Foundation offers registered charities and not-for-profit organisations funding up to £5,000.
Closing date: 14 August 2021
Nationwide Building Society: Mutual Respect Grant
Nationwide are donating £50,000 to the Mutual Respect Grants fund to help grassroot football teams across the UK continue to build mutual respect on and off the pitch. 50 clubs will be chosen to receive a grant of £1000 each.
Closing date: 23:59 0n 15 August 2021
Department of Education (Via Early Years): Childcare Sustainability Fund (Phase 4 Support)
Registered Childminders, Daycare providers, School Age Childcare, Crèches and Playgroups who are operational during the period 1 April 2021 to 30 June 2021 are eligible to apply for funding.
Closing date: 16 August 2021 at 4pm
