New or Updated Funding Initiatives

Cash 4 Clubs

Cash 4 Clubs is a sports funding scheme which gives clubs a unique chance to apply for grants to improve facilities, purchase new equipment, gain coaching qualifications, and generally invest in the sustainability of their club.  Since 2008 over £291,000 has been given out in grants to 373 community sports clubs across the UK.   There are four tiers of grants at £250, £500, £750 and £1,000.

Royal Voluntary Service: Sheds Grant Fund

Royal Voluntary Service, with funding from the Asda Foundation, has established a Sheds Grant Fund to provide small scale funding of £250 to £1000 to Sheds (Men's Sheds/Community Sheds) who are looking for help with either set up or early stage development costs.

Comic Relief: Community Cash

Comic Relief is working with UK Community Foundations (including Community Foundation for Northern Ireland ) to deliver Comic Relief Community Cash. Grants of between £500 and £1,000 are available to support work where there is clear evidence of a beneficial impact on people’s lives who are excluded or disadvantaged through low income, rural or social isolation, age, disabilities, race, sexuality or gender.

The Prince's Countryside Fund

The Prince's Countryside Fund provides grants of up to £50,000 for innovative projects operating in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland that provide a lasting legacy to individuals and communities in rural areas. The Prince’s Countryside Fund provides more than £1m in grants each year to projects across the UK.

British Council: Cultural Protection Fund

In partnership with the Department for Culture Media and Sport, the British Council have launched the Cultural Protection Fund. The objective for the new £30 million fund is to help to create opportunities for economic and social development through building capacity to foster, safeguard and promote cultural heritage in conflict-affected regions overseas.  Small Grants (grants less than 100K) and Large Grants (grants over 100k) are available.

British & Foreign School Society: Grants to Charities

The British & Foreign School Society gives grants to charities for educational activities. Grants for education projects are given up to a total of around £700,000 in any one year. Grants are given to organisations with UK charitable status and are for projects advancing educational opportunity in the UK and developing countries.
