New or Updated Funding Initiatives

Idlewild Trust

An independent grant-making trust that runs two grants programmes supporting specific areas within conservation and the arts.  Idlewild Trust awards grants of up to £5,000 and in 2016 awarded 39 grants totalling £141,091, an average of £3618.

Alec Dickson Trust

Provides grants of up to £500 to individuals or groups of young people aged 30 or under, to help them put their ideas into action and run projects that benefit the lives of others – particularly the most marginalised and disadvantaged.

Beatrice Laing Trust

Focuses on the relief of poverty and the advancement of the evangelical Christian faith, both at home and abroad. Financial support is given to a wide range of charities seeking to relieve poverty in its broadest sense, both throughout the UK and overseas.

The Magdalen Hospital Trust

Makes one-off and project-based grants from £500-£2,000 to promote the welfare of young people under 25, who suffer from various effects of social deprivation, abuse, mental and physical handicap, inadequate housing, lack of education or training, and the problems derived from unemployment and broken families.

Key Dates for your Fundraising Diary

Cash 4 Clubs

A sports funding scheme which provides small grants of £500, £750 and £1,000 to improve facilities, purchase new equipment, gain coaching qualifications, and generally invest in the sustainability of their club.  In 2018 there will also be a single £10,000 grant (which has a later closing date.)

Closing Date 06 Aug 2018 (Ordinary Grants)

Heritage Grants

An open programme for any type of project related to national, regional, or local heritage in the UK. You can apply for a grant of over £100,000.

  • Over £100,000 and under £1 million first round application deadline 16 Aug 2018

  • Over £1m and under £5m first and second round application deadline 16 Aug 2018

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) Grants

Funding to support independent research into privacy and data protection issues and develop privacy enhancing solutions.  Open to academic institutions, civil society groups, trade and industry associations and organisations.  A number of awards of between £20,000 and £100,000 annually.
