New or Updated Funding Initiatives

Telecommunity Fund

Managed by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, the Fund supports small, locally based grass roots community projects across Norther Ireland.  It prioritises work with young people, older people and people with disabilities.  Priority is also give to organisations with an annual income of less than £200,000. Grants range from £500 to £1,500.

Mike Moloney Arts Bursary Fund

Managed by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, the fund offers bursaries and grants from £1,000 up to a maximum of £2,500 for people, and organisations working with people, with convictions who are interested in pursuing a career in the arts and were engaged in the Arts Activities Programme whilst in prison.

Social Justice Small Grants Programme

The Social Justice Small Grants Programme, funded by Atlantic Philanthropies, supports local community groups with projects and initiatives that contribute to peacebuilding, tackle the impact of poverty and austerity measures and/or give voice to excluded groups.  Grants of up to £5000 are available.

Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation (PPCF)

The Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation (PPCF) is a grant giving trust with Quaker family roots in the United Kingdom.  It aims to contribute to the development of a just society based on a commitment to nonviolence and environmental sustainability.  Its priority is to address systemic threats by seeking to change policy and attitudes at a national or European level. PPCF usually give grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 per year, for up to three years.  They usually support organisations for whom this would represent between 3% and 50% of their annual income (organisations with an annual income of between £10,000 and £500,000 approximately).

George Best Belfast City Airport: Community Fund

The Fund support projects aimed at facilitating community, social and environmental/conservation projects ideally based within Ards and North Down Borough Council or Belfast City Council or the Greater Belfast area.  Preference is given to organisations with a charitable status who apply for funding (this does not apply to schools/play groups). Organisations applying for funding must have been established for a minimum of 24 months.

Cregganconroe Community Benefit Fund

Administered by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, this local community fund has been set up by Gaelectric to provide support for local projects that educate, raise awareness and demonstrate community involvement in work that promotes environmental issues and healthier lifestyles.  Small grants ranging from £1000 to £2000 are available to local community projects within a 10km/6 mile radius of the wind farm.
