New or Updated Funding Initiatives

Enkalon Community Fund

For its  30th Anniversary, Enkalon has launched a one-off Community Fund to benefit the former Antrim Borough area.  The aim of the fund is to enable groups and charities to develop projects which address the areas of need highlighted in the recently published Love Living Here Community Plan There are no minimum or maximum amounts for grants.

Ernest Cook Trust

One of the UK’s leading educational charities. Rooted in the conservation and management of the countryside, it actively encourages children and young people to learn from the land through hands-on educational opportunities on its estates and by offering small grants of £1000-£1500 and large grants of £4000 - £12,000.

Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust

Aims to benefit or protect animals, relieve animals from suffering, conserve wild life and encourage the understanding of animals.  Expects all applicants to be registered charities, unless their annual income is under £5,000.

The Kirby Laing Foundation

Supports a wide range of charities in the UK and abroad - mainly education, social and medical welfare projects, overseas development and promotion of the evangelical Christian faith.  Makes awards of both small and large grants, (under £5,000 and over £250,000).

Building Change Trust: Social Innovation Skills Programme

This programme is the first of its kind in NI and supports charities and social enterprises which need technical expertise, training and support to help them develop creative solutions to social problems.  Funded by Building Change Trust, Comic Relief, Department for Communities and Community Foundation for NI.

PetPlan Charitable Trust

PetPlan Charitable Trust provides welfare grants and scientific grants for animal welfare particularly for dogs, cats, horses and rabbits.  To date they have distributed almost £10,000,000 in grants.
