New & Updated Funds 

National Lottery Community Fund: New Infrastructure Programme (Closing 1st December)

A new £400,000 Infrastructure Programme designed to support established and newly emerging Infrastructure organisations that support other local and regional VCSE organisations, networks, groups and/or communities. The overall aim is to help Infrastructure organisations become stronger, more resilient and responsive to the changing environment. Between 8 and 10 infrastructure organisations will receive a package of funding of up to £50,000 combined with on-site coaching and expertise. 

ASDA Foundation: Feeding Communities Grant (Closing 6th December)

The Feeding Communities Grant programme has been designed by the ASDA Foundation to provide grants of up to £1000 to help provide meals to anyone in need in the lead up to Christmas. Meals can be provided for individuals, families, meals at children’s healthy holiday clubs.  

Made by Sport: #Clubs in Crisis Competition (Closing 12pm, 10th December)

Made By Sport’s #ClubsInCrisis Competition has been launched to create a platform for clubs to share their stories and help to continue raising awareness of the massive social value their local sports clubs and organisations deliver.  3 prizes of £5000 are on offer.

Public Health Agency (Via The Clear Project): FREE Equipment and Training for Sports Clubs (Closing 3pm, 11th December)

The Clear Project, in conjunction with the Public Health Agency, are offering constituted, voluntary sector sports clubs in the Western Trust area the opportunity to avail of training which will help them support their members and get £300 worth of relevant sports equipment for the club.

Department for Communities (DfC) via Cooperation Ireland:  VCSE Covid Recovery Fund (Closing 4pm, 11th December)

On behalf of the Department for Communities (DfC), Co-operation Ireland (in partnership with Rural Community Network) is managing the VCSE Covid Recovery Fund.  This £3 million fund offers additional funding to VCSE organisations to procure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other items to enable the re-opening and continued delivery of vital community services.

National Lottery Heritage Fund: Community Heritage Fund Northern Ireland (Closing Noon, 18th December)

As part of the £29million Covid-19 Culture, Languages, Arts and Heritage Support Programme 2020/2021, this £200,000 fund will be distributed By the National Lottery Heritage Fund on behalf of the Department for Communities.  It provides grants of between £3,000 - £10,000 for small-scale projects based in NI which help and encourage communities to connect to the heritage in their local area.

Museums Association: Digital Innovation and Engagement Fund (Closing 21st December)

The Museums Association have partnered with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and creative design agency The Liminal Space to launch a new £400k Digital Innovation and Engagement Fund for their institutional member museums.  The COVID-19 inspired scheme offers new grants of up to £50k for creative digital engagement

The National Lottery Heritage Fund: Shared History Fund (Closing 12 Noon, 15th January 2021)

The National Lottery Heritage Fund is distributing a total of £1million through the Shared History Fund to organisations in the UK marking the centenary of NI.  Grants will be awarded between £3,000 and £100,000 in two categories: £3,000-£10,000 and £10,000-£100,000. Funding must be spent by 31 March 2022.

UPDATE The COVID-19 Charities Fund (Now awaiting details of re-opening before Christmas)

This DfC fund was delivered through the National Lottery Community Fund. A further phase of this fund is currently being considered. In its first phase the Fund allocated £8.8m to applicants. The Minister Carál Ní Chuilín is fully committed to a second phase and has asked her officials to prepare the process.  It is expected that the Fund will open for applications to allocate a further £6.2m before Christmas.  Further information will be provided by NICVA when available.

The Prospectory: I've Got An Idea Fund

I’ve got an idea” is a micro fund for individuals (or small groups or organisations) who have a novel technical idea which they want to try out.  Grants of £250 to £5000 are available.  This fund is run in the spirit of imagination, potential impact and fun.
