Ulster Garden Villages Limited primarily allocates funds to projects within NI that in general will improve the quality of life in the local community.  As one of the largest grant-making trusts in Northern Ireland UGV gives grants totalling in the region of £1.5m each year.

Community Relations Council: Media Grant Scheme

The Media Grant Scheme supports a range of media products including digital content projects, infographics, television, radio, video and podcasts. The scheme is primarily for the creation of new material but may include the diversification of existing resources to increase their use with appropriate audiences.

ESB: Energy for Generations Fund

ESB has been supporting initiatives in the areas of suicide prevention and homelessness since 2005. The Energy for Generations Fund introduced a new focus on education in 2014, which recognises the need for educational supports at all levels to ensure that Ireland has the skills it needs to compete effectively in the future.  Each year the Fund awards €1 million in direct funding through a quarterly fund to charities working in the areas of suicide prevention, alleviation of homelessness and education access and support.

Greenhall Foundation

The objective of the Green Hall Foundation is to sustainably improve lives: among the sick, the elderly, the disabled and the disadvantaged particularly in the UK. Overseas projects are also supported provided that the applicant charity is registered in the UK.

Idlewild Trust

Idlewild Trust is an independent grant-making trust that runs two grants programmes supporting specific areas within conservation and the arts.  Idlewild Trust awards grants of up to £5,000 and in 2017 awarded 39 grants totalling £141,091 an average of £3,618.
