New or Updated Funding Initiatives

Allen Lane Foundation

Funds small registered charities, voluntary groups, and charitable organisations across the UK. Interested in funding causes which they believe to be unpopular both in society, and with other funders. Aims to help organisations to become sustainable, supporting running and core costs.  Around 150 grants, to a total value of between £750,000 and £800,000.  Average grant is £5000 to £6000.

Tudor Trust Grants

Makes grants, and provides other types of support, to voluntary and community groups working in any part of the UK. They particularly want to help smaller, community-led organisations which work directly with people who are at the margins of society: organisations which support positive changes in people’s lives and in their communities.

Power NI: Brighter Communities Fund

Power NI’s local funding initiative, Brighter Communities, makes £1000 available each month to NI community groups and individuals to help people implement innovative and creative projects which will change and improve their local community for the better.

The Inman Charity

A small trust making annual distributions of over £325,000 in grants to a wide range of UK Registered Charities.  Main interests are Medical research, Care of the elderly, General welfare, Hospices, The Deaf and Blind, Care of the physically & mentally disabled and The Armed Forces.

Gilchrist Educational Trust: Grants to Organisations

As well as providing grants to Individuals, grants for expeditions, and a biennial fieldwork award, they make modest grants to British organisations for projects likely to fill educational gaps, or make more widely available a particular aspect of education or learning.  The project(s) may be in the U.K. or overseas.  In the Trust's last financial year, the range of grants made to organisations was from £500 to £4,000.

The Ouseley Trust

Set up to promote and maintain to a high standard the choral services of the Church of England, the Church in Wales and the Church of Ireland. Makes grants to cathedrals, choral foundations, parish churches, choir schools and other relevant institutions.  The trustees of the Ouseley Trust administer the funds that arose from the closure and sale of St Michael's College, Tenbury Wells - the choir school founded by Sir Frederick Ouseley.
