New funding schemes this week:

The National Lottery Fund: COVID-19 Charities Fund

TNL Community Fund are distributing the COVID-19 Charities Fund with a grant from the Northern Ireland Department for Communities. This funding programme will provide financial support of up to £75,000 to charities who have lost income due to the impact of COVID-19 and are not able to cover unavoidable costs until 30 September 2020.

BBC Children in Need: COVID-19 Next Steps Grant

The Next Steps programme is their response programme designed to deliver support for children and young people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible organisations will be able to apply for between £5,000 and £80,000 for projects commencing in September 2020.

Comic Relief: 'Explore' (Tech for Good)

Comic Relief & Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Explore grant, is a new early stage digital funding strand of their existing Tech for Good programme.  The Explore programme will help charities to scope a digital solution to improve outcomes for the people they support, and to build the skills to develop a strong, user-led approach to digital service delivery.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council: COVID Response and Recovery Fund

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has introduced a COVID Response and Recovery fund to support local communities affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. There are four grant themes currently open, these are:

  • COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery
  • PCSP Community Safety and Support
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Good Relations

Foyle Foundation Small Grants

The Small Grants Scheme is designed to support smaller charities in the UK, especially those working at grass roots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities. The Foundation plan to make one year grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 to cover core costs or essential equipment, to enable ongoing service provision, homeworking, or delivery of online digital services to charities that can show financial stability.
