New or Updated Funding Initiatives

Nesta: Future Ready Fund

A £250,000 fund to support high-potential, early-stage interventions to test and further develop interventions that promote wider skills in 11-18 year olds, focusing on social and emotional skills and resilience. £35,000-£50,000 is available for between 5 and 7 grantees alongside non-financial support focusing on evaluation.

The Discovery Foundation: Discovery Grants

In 2016, The Santander Foundation became The Discovery Foundation which aims to help people have the confidence to make the most of their future.   Discovery Grants from roughly £200 up to £5,000 are available to support projects that improve people’s knowledge, skills or which provide innovative solutions to overcome social challenges.

Grow Wild: Community Project Funding

Grow Wild is awarding funding of £2,000 or £4,000 to 50 community groups across the UK that want to bring people together through activities that connect their community and celebrate UK native wild flowers,

Comic Relief: Power Up - resourcing women's and girls' movements for change

Aims to support a diverse range of women’s rights organisations to fight against systems which perpetuate the injustices they encounter in their daily lives.  Funding is available for 3 – 5 years  and can be used to cover the core costs / overheads of an organisation / partnerships, or specific projects and activities or a mixture of the two.  They also welcome applications using digital or Sport for Change approaches.

Big Lottery Fund: Digital Fund

The Digital Fund is a new UK wide £15 million funding programme to support charities and community organisations. It is about helping the charity and voluntary sector to use digital tools and approaches to support people and communities to thrive.

Techies in Residence

The Techies in Residence Programme brings together social challenges from charities and social enterprises with digital technology professionals to produce innovative digital products and services that have potential for deep social impact. Funded by Comic Relief, the scheme is administered by Community Foundation for NI.
