Shared Island Civic Society Fund
The Tánaiste, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Minister for Defence Micheál Martin TD has announced €1.5 million in funding for civic society organisations under the Government’s Shared Island Civic Society Fund. Organisations are invited to apply for funding from Monday 24 June 2024 until 2nd August 2024. The Shared Island Civic Society Fund, which complements the vital work supported by the Reconciliation Fund and other Government resources, will encourage and support civic society and community organisations to develop new cross-border links, to further strengthen existing partnerships, or to create or broaden cross-border connectivity on issues of concern for the island of Ireland. They particularly welcome applications for grants of up to €10,000 from small community based organisations. Other funding awards of up €25,000 per successful project will generally be made, with scope for awards of a maximum of €50,000 where necessary for larger projects.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation Grants
The Pink Ribbon Foundation provides grants of up to £6000 for practical projects and initiatives, which aim to help registered charities to deliver good physical and mental health to individuals with and recovering from breast cancer. They expect projects that receive funding to be delivered within 12 to 18 months. For the 2025 grant period and with requests for assistance growing, the Foundation decided to focus in the main on organisations with limited financial resources to deliver their services. Applications are now open to receive a grant in 2025. Final deadline 30 May 2025.
They are a small charity distributing grants to registered charities. Their focus is the mental health and well-being of children and young adults (under 26 years). They may consider granting an appropriate percentage of total costs for projects including over 25s. Generally, they offer first grants of between £2,500 and £5,000. However, no single grant is ever more than 5% of annual income. They are paperless so provide online platforms to support their staged application process. Stage 1 is to attend a Pixel Fund Q&A Drop-in Meeting (book HERE) – these are preparation free, just bring your questions.
Grants of up to £2,000 are available to charities, housing associations, schools, and social services providing support for individuals and families; in exceptional circumstances individual grants will exceed £500. The Foundation distributes both Zakat and Sadaqah funds. Sadaqah funds are available for all people of all faiths and none. Zakat funds are only available for Muslim applicants. The Foundation’s trustees give priority to the most financially excluded people, prioritise items that will make the most difference, and additional weight is given to those with caring responsibilities. Applications only accepted via a referral partner, e.g. charity, public body, social landlord, voluntary organisation, school etc., with a supporting statement from the organisation. Applications are assessed every six weeks, and you can expect a response within eight weeks of your application.
