NI Museums Council: Playful Museums Festivals 2025 and other opportunities

The Playful Museums Festival 2025 aims to support activities that promote playful museum spaces, and programming for children under 5. All grant-funded activities should take place during February 2025 to coincide with the Playful Museums Festival. Accredited NI Museums Council members Museums can apply for up to £500. Deadline 18 October 2024 (5pm). The NI Museums Council are exploring funding possibilities for two projects for 2024-2025. Project 1: Our Museum is a pilot project to design and print a children’s book inspired by a museum and its collection aimed at Early Years and can be used in outreach, loan boxes, family events etc. and can be used in collaboration with local libraries for Storytime sessions. Project 2: Working Title: 3D Printing Project. Creating 3D printed objects that can be used for sensory activities, school and early years audiences, outreach and loan boxes. The purpose will be to bring museum objects to new audiences, to open up collections that cannot be handled, loaned or moved and to allow learning to happen outside of the museum environment. JAZZ Apple Foundation Grants

The ‘JAZZ™ Apple Foundation’ has the simple aim of offering monetary support to people, groups and charitable endeavours that are important to you and share their belief: They believe in the importance of nourishing and supporting the next generation of young Brits, They believe in encouraging the consumption of an apple a day (JAZZ™ of course!) and a healthy, balanced diet, and They believe that sport and physical exercise is vital for a healthy body, mind and soul. Download the application form on the website, read the T&Cs, complete the form and email to [email protected]. Every month the Jazz Apples Team will select the lucky award winners. Maximum per award of £500.

Greenhall Foundation

The objective of the Green Hall Foundation is to sustainably improve lives: among the sick, the elderly, the disabled and the disadvantaged particularly in the UK. Overseas projects are also supported provided that the applicant charity is registered in the UK. Preference is given to appeals where the Foundation can meet a significant proportion of the funding required and to appeals where permanent equipment or building is required as opposed to funding salaries or the charity running costs. UK-based registered charities can apply for grants ranging from £1,000 to £10,000. Trustees meet in May and November. Each May meeting will be open to Charities in all income brackets. Each November meeting will only be open to Charities with an annual income of £250,000 or less. Next application period opens 3 March 2025 – each round closes when 150 applications have been received.

Halifax Foundation NI open programmes for registered charities

The Foundation awards grants to registered charities only. The Halifax Foundation awards based on their priority that your charity must support people in greatest need. For example, supporting people living in poverty; those who are unemployed; those with disabilities or mental ill health – this list is not exhaustive. Currently open programmes are: The Community FLEX programme supports registered charities with an income of £500,000 or less. It is a rolling programme with an average award of £4,500. IGNITE provides funding to support a charity to get started. Open to organisations recently set up (within last 2 years), priority will be given to charities with limited funds available to them. Maximum award £2,000. To celebrate 40 years of grant-giving in Northern Ireland, 40 INVEST opened for applications in early September 2024 and provides funding to support and strengthen your charity – investing in your future. Registered charities with an income of £250,000 or less, with a least one year of annual returns published on the CCNI website can apply for up to £40,000 over 2 years (maximum £20,000 per year) by the 30 September 2024 (noon) deadline.

Help the Homeless

Help The Homeless' main funding remit is the regular allocation of grants (generally up to £5,000) for capital costs to small and medium-sized registered charities only (those with a turnover of under £1m per annum). All applications must relate to projects that assist individuals in their return to mainstream society, rather than simply offer shelter or other forms of sustenance. Deadlines are 5pm on 15 December, 15 March, 15 June, 15 September annually.

Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust September deadlines

The following programmes close 25 September 2024 (noon): Service Women: Seen & Heard programme 2024/25 offers grants to tackle the underlying issues unique to serving women, providing improved access to support for their mental and physical health and wellbeing. Grants up to £50K for over one-year projects. Grants up to £100K for over two-year projects. And Apart Not Alone: Support for Serving Families programme 2024-25 will award grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 for projects that will help to mitigate the impact of long or frequent involuntary separation for families, spouses, and serving personnel, including reservists and their families. Building the Community Pharmacy Partnership (BCPP) Level 1 funding

The programme aims to promote and support local communities to work in partnership with community pharmacists to address local health and social wellbeing needs using a community development approach. Level 1 funding is for a grant up to £2,500 for a project that can last up to six months. Round 47, Level 1 deadline 26 September 2024.

The Fat Beehive Foundation: Digital Funding for Small Charities

The Fat Beehive Foundation is an independent UK registered charity that provides small grants for websites and digital products to other small UK registered charities. Charities with an average income of less than £400,000 a year can apply for grants up to £2500. Funding rounds are quarterly and themed; quarter 3 is open to charities supporting Environmental Protection or climate change mitigation. Deadline 27 September 2024 (5pm).

Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS): Memorial Grants Scheme

The Memorial Grant Scheme gives grants towards VAT on the construction, repair and maintenance of public memorial structures, for work which took place on or after 16 March 2005. This is a UK-wide grant, available for memorials in any part of the UK (or overseas memorials in some circumstances). The grant scheme is managed by East Midlands Business Ltd on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). The maximum grant available is the full rate of VAT (20% of project costs). Next deadline 30 September 2024 (23:59).

UnLtd: Funding Futures Programme

Their Funding Futures Programme, is a new partnership aimed at young tackling financial exclusion in their communities who are based across the UK. UnLtd is looking to identify, fund and support young social entrepreneurs (aged 16-30) who have financial inclusion solutions. This includes Young Social Entrepreneurs (16-30) whose activities or ventures directly tackle financial exclusion examples include: financial education, debt advice, welfare advice, employability skills, meaningful employment for those financially excluded, or addressing the affordability of goods and services and Young Social Entrepreneurs (16-30) supporting people experiencing financial hardship and from marginalised communities to access good jobs and meaningful employment. They combine funding and support to help you to get started or grow. Depending on your stage of development they can offer up to £18,000. Deadline 30 September 2024.
