St Stephen’s Green Trust (SSGT) Family Matters
The 2024 St Stephen’s Green Trust (SSGT) Family Matters grant programme is open to applications until 9 September 2024. Groups working across the island contributing to improving the system of support for families affected by convictions and imprisonment to improve rehabilitation and resettlement outcomes can apply. The grant programme has two strands: one-off grants to test new approaches or add value to current work (up to €7,000/£6,000) and one-off or multiannual (up to 3 years) grants for more strategic work (up to €25,000/£21,500).
Heart Research UK: Healthy Heart Grants
Heart Research UK Healthy Heart Grants of up to £15,000 are available for original, innovative projects that promote a healthy heart and help reduce the risk of developing heart disease in your area and across the country. They currently only accept applications from small, registered charities and community interest companies with annual incomes of less than £1 million. Projects must work solely with adults and have a main focus on one or more of the following areas: healthy eating, physical activity, smoking or alcohol. The funding rotates around the UK at different times of the year. Funding opens to Northern Ireland applicants 21 August until 18 September 2024.
World Cancer Day 2025: Close the Cancer Care Gap
Everyone deserves access to cancer care, but many people who seek cancer care hit barriers at every turn. Income, education, geographical location and discrimination based on ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability and lifestyle are just a few of the factors that can negatively affect care. This equality gap is costing lives. Macmillan’s Cancer Experience Panel in Northern Ireland want to play their part in closing the cancer care gap. Any organisation or group can apply for up to £3,000 to enable them to provide a showcase during the week of World Cancer Day 2025, 3-7 February 2024 to highlight the impact of inequality in cancer care and/or to demonstrate what they are doing to close the cancer care gap and the outcomes for people living with cancer. Deadline 5 August 2024.
NIHE: Sustaining Tenancies Funding Programme Tranche 2
Tranche 2 opens 22 July 2024, providing funding to support their tenants in creating more resilient, sustainable tenancies. It’s open to constituted groups within the community, voluntary and charitable sector operating in Northern Ireland including Housing Community Network groups / Residents’ groups, Social Enterprises that have registered charitable status, charitable organisations and CICs (Community Interest Companies) that are limited by guarantee. They are seeking expressions of interest for projects lasting up to 36 months, requiring funding between £5,000 and £100,000 over the full lifetime of the project. Email EOI forms and relevant documentation to [email protected] by 8 August 2024 (4pm).
Greene King: Proud To Pitch In
Funding from Proud To Pitch In is distributed throughout the year and offers grants of up to £4,000 to grassroots and community sports clubs across the United Kingdom. During the Euros, 10p from pints of all Greene King Beer* sold has gone straight into their Proud To Pitch In helping them reach their £1,000,000 funding target. Eligible projects are based in the UK with beneficiaries aged 18 or over. Funding aims to tangibly benefit applicant clubs in the short-term and sports activities projects that positively impact the local community. Apply at any time up to 1 November 2024. *On selected venues and packs during defined promotional periods.

Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust: Armed Forces Families Fund: Early Years programme
This programme will award grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 on behalf of the MOD’s Armed Forces Families Fund Early Years Programme, towards projects lasting up to two years, which help enhance early childhood education and childcare settings to meet specific needs of young children from Armed Forces families. Deadline 24 July 2024 (noon).
Causeway Coast and Glens Policing & Community Safety Small Grants Programme
The Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) Small Grants Programme will fund up to a maximum of £999 for eligible local organisations to organise a project or event that will help prevent, reduce, address crime and help people feel safer in their own communities. This is a rolling fund, open throughout the year, with regular assessment points with a deadline. Next deadline 26 July 2024 (noon).
The Common Fund is open to registered charities with a proven track record of delivering services and projects in Northern Ireland able to demonstrate that Apex tenants / residents will benefit from any funding awarded. Grant of up to £1000 for work in their communities. Deadline 26 July 2024 (5pm).
The Fore: Autumn 2024 funding round
The Fore provide a wraparound package of unrestricted, multi-year grant-funding (up to £30,000) training, skilled volunteers, peer-to-peer networks and impact measurement. Open to registered Charities, Charitable Incorporated Organisations, Community Interest Companies (CICs) limited by guarantee, or Community Benefit Societies with an annual revenue of less than £500,000. They are particularly keen to hear from grassroots organisations working with underserved communities. Registration to apply opens 24 July (noon) and closes 31 July 2024 (noon).
Status update: Asda Foundation Investing in Spaces and Places Grant
Investing in Spaces and Places is Asda Foundation’s higher value grant for local groups aimed at improving spaces in the heart of local communities. They recognise the challenge for many community groups is having the appropriate space and place to bring people together to deliver their fantastic work. Grants will be between £10,000 and £25,000. Following the launch of their Investing in Spaces and Places Grant last week, due to high demand they have now closed applications for any projects that are based in Northern Ireland.
