Belfast City Council: Social Supermarket Support Fund
The aim of a social supermarket is to offer a sustainable response to food insecurity by seeking to help address the root causes of poverty rather than simply provide food. This is achieved by providing, in addition to food support, a referral network for wraparound support. Open to formally constituted community, voluntary or social enterprise organisation which provides services for the benefit of people living in the Belfast City Council area. The Social Supermarket Support Fund can provide funding up to a maximum grant of £50,000. They will be hosting online information sessions on: Tuesday 22 October from 10am to 10.30am and Wednesday 23 October from 2pm to 2.30pm. Email [email protected] to attend. Trusthouse Charitable Foundation
Trusthouse provides Small grants of £2,000 to £10,000 for organisations with an annual income not exceeding £250,000 and Major grants of £10,000 and £50,000 for organisations with a turnover up to £500,000. Open to charitable organisations (including CICs, social enterprises, not-for-profit registered companies and voluntary organisations) in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Focus is on deprivation. For urban deprivation, your postcode must be ranked within the most deprived 15% of the Index of Multiple Deprivation. For rural deprivation, your postcode must be within the most deprived 50% of the Index of Multiple Deprivation.
The BRIT Trust welcomes applications from registered charities for grant funding consistent with its mission of "improving lives through the power of music and the creative arts”. The Trust considers all applications from registered charities and CICs. No grant amount is listed; to date The BRIT Trust has made more than 280 grant commitments totalling almost £30 million to a wide range of causes and charities across the UK that inspire people to realise their full potential and life chances, whatever their abilities, ethnicity, gender and sexuality. The Grant Application Window is now open and will close on Wednesday 30th April 2025.
Rural Business Development Grant Scheme (RBDGS) 2024/2025
The Rural Business Development Grant Scheme (RBDGS) 2024/2025 is funded under the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affair’s Tackling Rural Poverty and Social Isolation (TRPSI) Programme. Rural business development grants of between £500 and £4,999 are available to micro enterprises based in a rural area to support the sustainability and growth of rural micro-businesses across Northern Ireland by providing a small capital grant for the business. Deadline 8 November 2024 (noon).
eBay UK: Circular Fashion Innovator's Fund
The eBay Circular Fashion Fund returns for its third year and has now expanded to be global. They are looking to invest in businesses that push the boundaries of technology and services to drive circular fashion forward. Winners from the UK can secure up to £50k in funding, networking opportunities, and bespoke mentoring. Additionally, winners have the opportunity to be awarded "eBay Circular Fashion Innovator of the Year" and receive an additional investment of up to $300k. Deadline 15 November 2024 (23:59:59).
Matthew Good Foundation: Grants for Good
Grants for Good invites local charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises that have an average annual income of less than £50,000 to apply to them for funding. Every three months they share £15,000 between five shortlisted projects which are voted on by John Good Group employees. Following the vote, the project that receives the most votes will receive a grant of £5,000, second place £3,500, third place £2,500 and fourth and fifth place will both receive £2,000. Current round open until 15 December 2024.

The National Lottery Community Fund: Sustainable Community Buildings
This funding is part of their new strategy supporting communities to be environmentally sustainable. Funding helps your organisation learn how to be more environmentally sustainable, work with experts to create an environment plan, improve the environmental performance of your community building, share knowledge and learning, and ultimately reduce your carbon footprint and energy bills. Applicants from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Derry City and Strabane District Council, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council or Fermanagh and Omagh District Council can apply for up to £50,000 in capital funding only until 23 October 2024.
NextEnergy is providing grants to the communities that host its solar assets across Southwest England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Apply for a grant of up to £1,500 for any social or environmental projects that focus on education and skills in the local area. Deadline 24 October 2024.
East Belfast District Policing and Community Safety Partnership (DPCSP) is seeking submissions of up to £10,000 for new proposals to address community safety issues within east Belfast, using community-based restorative practice. Potential projects will focus on community safety issues such as antisocial behaviour, hate crime, fear of crime and support the restorative resolution of conflict and community tensions within east Belfast. Deadline 25 October 2024 (noon).
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council: Policing & Community Safety Small Grants Programme
The Small Grants Programme has been designed to support, promote and develop community safety initiatives throughout the council area. Causeway Coast and Glens Borough PCSP will fund up to a maximum of £999 for eligible projects per year. This is a rolling fund with regular assessment points. Next deadline 25 October 2024 (noon).
Commonweal Housing: Call for New Ideas - Migration, Asylum and Human Trafficking
The Call for New Ideas is an invitation to not-for-profits across the UK to bring them new and imaginative ideas for housing and support models that seek to address a specific social injustice. Up-to three applicants will receive between £5,000-£10,000 in grant funding. This money is for you to conduct a feasibility study to evaluate your model. For this Call for New Ideas, they are only looking for ideas that tackle injustice faced by vulnerable migrants, those in the asylum system and survivors of trafficking. All applications must require a property acquisition element, as the intention is for Commonweal to acquire property to deliver the project in partnership with you. Submit your proposal by email before 4 November 2024 (5pm).

This is the first workshop as part of our Community Connections project in partnership with Business in the Community and funded by The Halifax Foundation. This workshop is for Voluntary and Community organisations that want more information on starting to work with corporate partners, and will explore the ways corporate partners can help, the benefits for both sectors and how to communicate your organisation’s objectives and social impact to potential partners.

Described as your written argument as to why you deserve to be funded, a compelling Case for Support can be a powerful tool to secure funding. This 3-hour session in NICVA aims to support those responsible for fundraising within voluntary and community organisations and who are unfamiliar with the use of Cases for Support in their work.
