James Kane Foundation funding Northern Ireland projects
The James Kane Foundation is an independent Charity. The Foundation will focus on two themes: Enabling STEM related education and career opportunities and Enabling students to make the correct choices between employment/career and higher-level education pathways. Only projects within Northern Ireland meeting one or both these themes will be eligible. The Foundation intends to allocate in the region of £400,000 per year for large scale projects and will consider multi-year funding. 75% of the budget will be allocated to large grants and 25% to small grants – under £25,000. Expressions of Interest open 6 January 2025 and close 28 March 2025 (4pm).
Sea-Changers Innovation Fund now open for 2025
The aim of the Innovation Fund is simply “To support innovative marine conservation approaches and solutions.” This includes any innovation that may: Address the root causes of marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK, Prevent or reduce negative impacts on UK coastal and marine environments and/or species, or Add to the body of knowledge about marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK and ways to overcome them. The absolute maximum grant size will be £10,000. The closing date is 28th February 2025.
CABWI Awarding Body is a registered charity promoting learning and development that enables young people and adults to gain additional skills and confidence to enter the labour market. Grants of up to £35,000 a year are available for one year. The scheme opens for applications 6 January 2025 and closes 3 February 2025 (6pm). Will be held on 8 January 2025 at 12pm(noon). To register for their Info Webinar on 8 January 2025 at 12pm(noon), send your name and the organisation's name to [email protected], putting “Webinar" in subject heading.
The Trustees seek to help and improve the quality of life of people in the UK, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds by making grants to registered charities for the benefit of young people, disabled people, elderly people, the terminally ill and otherwise disadvantaged people and their carers. Typically, grants of up to £5,000 are regularly made and occasional larger sums are given to charities where high impact can be achieved. Next deadline 26 February 2025.
Worshipful Company of World Traders
UK-registered charities and other not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for funding to support projects that promote the benefits of world trade. Grants are typically between £1000 – £5,000. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Belfast City Council - Festival of Learning
Belfast Learning Festival takes place from 9 to 13 April 2025. The festival theme in 2025 is Creating Connections. Funding up to a maximum of £500 is available to assist organisations and groups to deliver an event during festival week. Deadline 20 December 2024 (noon).
The Britford Bridge Trust is a family foundation giving grants that support the advancement of education, culture, heritage and science, the protection of the environment and the relief of those in need. The Trust will favour applications that have national and international relevance.The Trustees typically make grants of between £10,000 to £50,000. Larger amounts may be available in exceptional circumstances. Deadline 31 December 2024.
Foras na Gaeilge: Professional and Amateur Drama Companies
Foras na Gaeilge is providing funding to legally established drama groups, both amateur and professional, including newly established groups, who wish to produce Irish language or bilingual plays around the country and abroad. Professional groups: Maximum €50,000/£30,000; costs of the company’s programme of work will not be 100% funded. Amateur groups: €12,000/£8,000; permission to apply for 100% of the year’s programme costs. New professional groups: €24,000/£16,000; permission to apply for 100% of the year’s programme costs. Deadline 6 January 2025 (noon).
Music for All provides grants for both individuals and groups to enable more people to access musical instruments and lessons and music programmes for the community across the UK and Ireland. Grants of £2000 available for a range of projects addressing those dealing with learning and cognitive challenges, facing financial hardship, early years (aged 0-4 years), have physical and mobility needs, or for choral groups. Round 4 now open until 13 January 2025.
Howdens: The Game Changer Programme
The Game Changer Programme to support grassroots football with improved clubhouse facilities that are at the heart of the community. Applicants in Northern Ireland are any grassroots club who own their facilities freehold or have an uninterruptible lease for the next 5 years. The next application window opens 2nd December 2024 and closes on 31st January 2024.
