Jaguar Land Rover launches charitable foundation 

Jaguar Land Rover have created the JLR Foundation, a charitable foundation dedicated to empowering children and young people to reach their full potential and catalyse positive social and environmental change. The manufacturer is pledging up to £2.5 million to support its charitable work in the first year, with plans to increase funding annually as the Foundation grows. The charity will use the funds to award grants to charitable organisations and NGOs that benefit children and young people through initiatives that further their skills, knowledge and abilities, and reduce inequalities by providing opportunities to those who are disadvantaged. The JLR Foundation will officially launch later in 2025, initially in the UK, with plans to expand globally in future. JLR’s focus on youth development is also about improving accessibility pathways for young people into its business.   A new global education programme will also launch in 2025 to build transferable skills and support students in finding their unique place in the future of work.  

The Big Give's Small Charity Week

Big Give, Global’s Make Some Noise and NCVO are championing small charities across the UK, through a seven-day online match funded campaign. Up to £10,000 match funding. Their inaugural, Small Charity Week match funding campaign will help to build the resilience, skills and profile of the small charity sector whilst helping them raise vital, unrestricted funding to further their impact. Charities with an annual income between £5,000 and £1 million from across the UK are able to apply for match funding. Donations made during the campaign, which will run between 23 – 30 June 2025 (coinciding with Small Charity Week) will be doubled through the match funding model. Charities can seek to raise either £500, £1,000, £2500, £5,000, or £10,000 in public donations. Apply by 2 April 2025.

The Big Give: Women and Girls Match Fund

A seven-day online match funding campaign working with exceptional charities dedicated to serving the women and girls in our communities, fostering a future where every individual can thrive without limitations. The Fund utilises their ‘1:1’ Model of match funding meaning a public donation of £50 becomes £100 during the campaign. Open to UK-registered charities with charity number or tax-exempt status and have an annual income of at least £25,000 (as per last filed accounts on the Charity Commission). Free to register with BigGive and raised funds are unrestricted. Application window open now until May 30th 2025. 

Benefact Group: Movement for Good Awards launching new Partnership funding initiative

The Movement for Good Awards is an annual programme of giving, set up by all the businesses that make up the Benefact Group, and again this year they'll be donating over £1 million to charities and good causes. In May 2025 they'll be launching their new partnership funding initiative. If you're a charity or know a charity that may be interested in applying, please sign up here and they'll keep you up to date. Other  giving programmes aren open. The £1,000 draws accept nominations between Jan 1st 2025 – 16 Dec 2025. Anyone can nominate a registered charity, not-for-profit organisation or community interest company in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands or Isle of Man to receive £1000 in several draws throughout 2025. The £5,000 special draws occur across the year in support of one charity sector each. Separate entry to the £1000 draw. Nominate between each application window listed on their website. Areas this year are Animals & Wildlife (now closed), Health & Wellbeing, Children & Young People, and Arts & Culture.  

The National Lottery Community Fund: Sustainable Community Buildings

This funding is to help your organisation to learn how to be more environmentally sustainable and understand what changes you can make through attending carbon literacy training and working with experts to create an environment plan for your organisation. Additionally, funding supports you to improve the environmental performance of your building, i.e. add solar panels, improve insulation or install energy-efficient lighting, share the benefits of being more environmentally sustainable with your community and contribute to monitoring, measuring and reporting on the impact of your funding and ultimately reducing your carbon footprint and energy bills. Up to £50,000 (capital only). Opens for applications on Wednesday 12 March 2025 to unregistered voluntary or community organisation with a governing document, not-for-profit company, registered charity (unincorporated), Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO or SCIO), and Community Interest Company (CIC). Deadline 23 April 2025.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Grant Aid

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council provides funding to voluntary clubs, societies, community groups, social enterprises and sporting organisations for grant aid.  Funding towards Community & Wellbeing, Community Premises Support, Good Relations, Irish in the Community, PCSP – Policing & Community Safety Partnership, Project Development – (Rolling), Seeding (Rolling), Sports Team – Significant Sporting Achievement Fund (Rolling), Summer Schemes 2025 – July/August, Ulster Scots in the Community, and Verti-Draining. Bursaries are also available to individuals in the area of Culture and Sport. Applicants must be based within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area. Deadline unless otherwise stated 5pm, 12 March 2025.

Weavers' Company Benevolent Fund

Weaver Company Benevolent Fund's principal aim is to support people in trouble, particularly young offenders and ex-offenders, and other disadvantaged young people. Preference is given to pump priming new projects, especially those which are innovative and can serve as a model elsewhere. In over 40 years the fund has disbursed more than £4 million supporting many worthwhile projects. Small Grants Programme has a cap of £5,000; Main Grants Programme is uncapped, but you are advised to research typical grant sizes previously made through their Charity Commission Annual Reports. Next deadline midday 13 March 2025.

Asda Foundation: Young Futures Fund

Supporting grassroots groups to improve mental health and wellbeing for teens and young people (13-21 years) to help build better futures. This is a new funding opportunity, with grants ranging from £500 to £1,000, to be used to specifically support young people aged from 13-21. Deadline 13 March 2025.

The Hinrichsen Foundation

The Hinrichsen Foundation is a charity mainly devoted to the promotion of new music. Grants of between £500 and £3,000 are available for charities and organisations across the UK to deliver music projects that focus on the performance, commissioning, or recording of contemporary music. Priority will be given to projects involving composers and activity based in the UK, though activity does not have to solely take place in the UK. Applications may come from individuals, organisations, or charities. Deadline 5pm, 14 March 2025.

The Northern Ireland Football Fund Performance Programme

The Northern Ireland Football Fund (TNIFF) Performance Programme marks the start of a £36.2 million footballing facilities improvement programme across Northern Ireland. Opening in phases, the first of the three strands within The Northern Ireland Football Fund (TNIFF) is open to Performance Clubs defined as all current football clubs which are members of the Northern Ireland Football League or League of Ireland who play their home matches at a venue located in Northern Ireland. Two other strands for Grassroots Facilities and a National Football Centre will be announced later.  It is expected that individual project values are likely to vary in value from under £1.5million to over £20million. There is three funding Tiers: Projects with a total cost up to £1.5million, Projects with a total cost above £1.5million and up to £6million, and Projects with a total cost above £6million. Deadline 5pm, 14 March 2025.
