St Stephens Green Trust: Vulnerable Migrants – focus on International Protection
Funding will focus on supporting groups with a proven track record of advocacy work in relation to issues affecting people in international protection so that they can make time and space for strategic thinking, with a view to addressing one or more of the issues outlined in their research paper, through strategic advocacy. The programme features three funding strands: Strand One: Innovation and Imagination will offer one-off small grants of up to €3,000 or £2,500; Strand Two: Development Strand for applications for up to €10,000 /£8,500; and Strand Three: Grants of up to €20,000 /£17,000 per annum for 3 years. The programme will support work in Ireland and in Northern Ireland. SSGT ordinarily funds registered charities but organisations that are not-for-profit may apply where they have a demonstrable track record of working strategically to improve the situation for people in the International Protection process. Strand 1 – application form; Strands 2 and 3 – Expressions of Interest form. Deadline 12 August 2024 (4:30pm).
Artemis Charitable Foundation Grants
Each year, Artemis gives a proportion of revenues to the Artemis Charitable Foundation. The Artemis Charitable Foundation makes donations primarily in four key areas: health, education, poverty, and the environment. For 2024, they have made the decision to open applications to environmental charities only. Applicants must be a registered environmental charity, operating for a minimum of three years with an income level of £100,000 per annum. Typically, grants of up to £5,000 will be awarded to successful applicants. Applications will close 16 August 2024 (5pm).
Tesco Stronger Starts is open to charities and community organisations (including registered charities/companies), health bodies (e.g. Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), NHS Hospital Trust, Foundation Trust), Parish/Town Councils, local authorities and social housing providers. Apply for a grant of up to £1,500. Every three months, three local good causes are selected to be in the blue token customer vote in Tesco stores throughout the UK. Rolling programme open to all local good causes, but they are currently prioritising projects that support children’s food security and health and local store nominated good causes. Applications are also open to Activity for All grants – deadline 5 August 2024 (23:59).
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council: Town Centre Shopfront Improvement Scheme
In partnership with the Department for Communities (DfC), the Council’s ‘Town Centre Shopfront Improvement Programme’, is designed to enhance the appearance of commercial areas in designated town centres across the Borough. Implemented in phases over the next two financial years (2024-25/2025-26), subject to funding availability, Phase 1 - Ballyclare and Randalstown and Phase 2 – Antrim, Crumlin and Glengormley. Open to both Vat- and Non-VAT registered applicants, the available grant will cover 80% of eligible costs but will be capped at a maximum value of £4,999, regardless of overall project costs. Drop in information sessions for Phase 1 are being held in various locations during July and August. Deadline 20 September 2024 (noon).
The 7 stars Foundation: Shine Bright Funding
Grants for charities to purchase educational, wellbeing, or recreational items for young people, aged 16 years old or under, aligned to their prioritised themes. Addressing the needs of children impacted by abuse, addiction, and homelessness, as well as supporting young carers. Grants are available up to £1,500 per successful application. Deadline 31 August 2024.
Asda Foundation Investing in Spaces and Places Grant
Investing in Spaces and Places is Asda Foundation’s higher value grant for local groups aimed at improving spaces in the heart of local communities. They recognise the challenge for many community groups is having the appropriate space and place to bring people together to deliver their fantastic work. Grants will be between £10,000 and £25,000 and the application window opens on 9 July 2024.

Hospital Saturday Fund: Standard Grant
The Hospital Saturday Fund provides assistance for registered health charities, hospices, medical organisations and individuals. Their Standard grants of up to £2,000 or €3,000 are towards medical capital projects, medical care or research, and in support of medical training within the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. They will also consider grants for running costs. Deadline 10 July 2024 (close of business).
Women in Innovation Award 2024/25
Women within UK registered micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can apply for a share of up to £4 million to develop their exciting and innovative ideas. The £75,000 grant also includes bespoke business support. Deadline 10 July 2024 (11am).
Digital Transformation Flexible Fund
The Digital Transformation Flexible Fund (DTFF) is delivered by all local authorities in Northern Ireland under the Full Fibre Northern Ireland Consortium (FFNI) and supported by Invest NI. Small and micro businesses and social enterprises across Northern Ireland are able to benefit from funding to help accelerate their digital transformation ambitions. The DTFF grants are worth between £5,000 and £20,000. If eligible, the grant can fund up to 70% of the cost of a project with 30% match funding from the applicant. Submit EOI by 12 July 2024 (noon).
Extended deadline for The Big Give’s Christmas Challenge
The Big Give runs the UK’s biggest match funding campaign, The Christmas Challenge. For 7 days, it offers supporters of participating charities the opportunity to have their donation doubled. In 2023, £33m was raised for 1,077 charities. Deadline is now 19 July 2024.
Freelands Foundation: Inclusive Practices Fund 2024
The Inclusive Practices Fund will support organisations to reimagine arts engagement and education; aiming to foster belonging and connection between young people in primary and secondary school, their teachers and visual arts spaces. Grants of up to £25,000 per year are available for project durations of 1 – 2 years (maximum grant amount is £50,000 over 2 years). EOI deadline 19 July 2024 (noon).
