 Asda Foundation Grassroots Grants

Asda Foundation’s goal is to build resilient communities by empowering local groups to make a positive difference, addressing local challenges and social needs. Their ‘Grassroots Grants’ programme and is designed to support a broad range of activities helping to transform communities and improve lives. They know every community need is different and therefore they will support and fund what is needed and important to your community. Contact your local store's Community Champion to submit an application by the 24 May deadline.

Henry Smith Charity - Holiday Grants for Children

The purpose of the Holiday Grants programme is to provide access to recreational trips or holidays for groups of children who experience disadvantage or who have disabilities. Grants range from £500 to £2,750. Accepting applications for trips taking place between 1 May to 31 August until 22 July 2024.

Road Safety Trust - Small Grants

The main aim of the Small Grants Programme is to improve road safety at a local level. The programme was designed after reviewing their first four years of funding and listening to the views of stakeholders. This told them that there was a need for funding for smaller, local projects with a practical focus. For grants between £10,000 and £50,000. Deadline 24 April 2024 (5pm). Their Large Grants scheme opens again in the autumn.

 Northern Ireland Screen - Irish Language Broadcast Fund

The ILBF provides both development funding and production funding across a wide range of television genres, for content broadcast on BBC NI, TG4 and RTÉ. Development funding is awarded at a maximum of 50% of the overall development budget with a broadcaster generally providing the remaining 50% of funding. Production funding is a maximum of £400,000 in a project, up to a ceiling of 75% of the overall agreed project costs and will require that no less than 70% of those project costs are spent in Northern Ireland. If you are considering applying for funding to the ILBF you must in the first instance contact the relevant representative (see scheme).

Warrenpoint Harbour: On Board Christmas Community Fund

The Port strives to be a good corporate citizen with an open and transparent line of communication to the neighbourhood in which its team lives and works. Local groups can apply to their Christmas Community Fund. In 2023/4 more than £30,000 was donated to 70+ different organisations. The scheme is currently closed but will reopen in November 2024.

The Leathersellers’ Company Small Grants now open

The Leathersellers’ Company Charitable Fund provide a wide range of funding to UK registered Charities, Educational Institutions and University Students. The Small Grants Programme will award grants of up to £5,000 to organisations with an annual income of less than £200,000. Partnerships are encouraged. The number of applications will be capped and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis e.g. the first 45 applications after each round opens will be able to be submitted. Published deadline 6 May 2024.

Education Authority Northern Ireland Youth Funding Programmes

The following funding schemes are closing Planned Interventions Programme 10 April 2024 (4pm). And Local Project Funding, Local Area Based Funding, Regional Development Funding, and Regional Project Funding close 12 April 2024 (4pm).

Sported: Barclays Community Football Fund: £1000 Access Grant

Sported have partnered with Barclays to launch the new Barclays Community Football Fund, offering small grants, training, kit and exclusive ticketing offers to make football more accessible in communities across the UK. Through the Barclays Community Football Fund, Sported is creating opportunities for all young people through access to football – supporting the growth in participation at every level.  Round 1 deadline 12 April 2024.

Spring Impact: Lean Impact for Scale

The Lean Impact for Sclae programme offers fully-funded training programme to scale the impact of organisations working to promote refugee inclusion in the UK. The course is for UK-based organisations who:Mission: Supporting refugees in securing housing, income, education, fostering community connections, and/or promoting entrepreneurship. Solutions exclusively focused on providing basic needs materials and advocating for asylum system reform are not the focus of this cohort. Life stage: Growing or mature organisations that are ready to reach their next level of scale by building scaling strategies and iteratively developing or refining interventions for scale. Size: Sufficient funding to sustain operations for the next 12 months. Geographic focus: UK (regional, or national level). Deadline 15 April 2024.

Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA): Northern Ireland Regional Food Programme

NIRFP 2024-25 seeks to deliver projects under three categories of support including: ‘Regional Fairs/Exhibitions’, ‘Seminars/Workshops’, and ‘Information Programmes.’ The programme encourages all sectors of the agri-food industry to work together and will provide financial assistance for eligible additional activities.  If successful, you will receive financial assistance of up to 40% of expenditure against eligible project items. Awards – up to £5,000, £5,000-£30,000, and over £30,000. Deadline 15 April 2024 (4pm). 

National Churches Trust: Medium Grants

This programme offers their medium sized grants of between £3,000 and £10,000 towards urgent and essential maintenance and repair projects costing between £20,000 and £80,000. Also project development and investigative work up to RIBA planning stage 1, to support churches preparing for a major project, and in developing their project to the point at which they can approach a major grant funder. Grants will never exceed 50% of the net project costs (for this phase). Next deadline 16 April 2024.
