Big Gives’ Green Match Fund opening early November
The climate crisis demands urgent action, and the Green Match Fund is committed to amplifying the impact of every donation, doubling the difference for global efforts to protect and preserve our planet. Utilising their Multi Model of match funding, charities which are working on environmental issues as part of their core mission with an annual income of at least £25,000 can select either the 1:1 or Pledge Model of match funding. Up to £10,000 in public donations through the 1:1 Model (to be doubled by match funds) or up to £100,000 in public donations through the Pledge Model (to be doubled by match funds). Charities can receive up to £50k in Champion funds. Opens 4 November 2024.
The Theatres Trust/Wolfson: Theatre Improvement Scheme
Theatres Trust's Theatre Improvement Scheme, in association with the Wolfson Foundation, offers capital funding for theatres. The theme for the fund for the current three-year partnership is Improving Environmental Sustainability as this is an urgent priority for the sector. Theatre operators can apply for grants of up to £20,000 towards their building or equipment as part of the scheme. Now open until 5 September 2025.
Aviva Community Fund
Funding is available for fresh ideas looking to secure up to £50,000. Each charity can apply for funding of up to a maximum of £50,000 and Aviva employees will decide how the funding is distributed. Eligible causes will be able to submit their projects to the Aviva Community Fund through Crowdfunder. Funding applications are open to projects looking to raise up to £50,000 in match funding.
Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation: Small Change Big Difference® Fund
The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation aims to help alleviative poverty, improve health and save lives. Donations are made to registered charities which support children, those seriously ill, as well as elderly, homeless and disabled people. The Charitable Foundation accepts nominations from Yorkshire Building Society members and colleagues. The Charitable Foundation’s Small Change Big Difference Fund supports these priorities by making donations of up to £2,500 to UK registered charities, nominated by the Society’s members and colleagues. Next deadline 31 December 2024.
Woodward Charitable Trust: General Grants
The Woodward Charitable Trust is a grant-making trust and is one of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts. The Trust primarily funds charitable organisations in the UK. If they fund overseas projects it is usually via UK charities which can ensure that funds are being well used. The Woodward Charitable Trust only makes grants for core costs rather than specific projects as they recognise that smaller charities can find these hard to fund. Opens to applications 4 November 2024.
Alzheimer’s Society: Accelerator Programme
The Accelerator Programme is designed to support people in developing and accelerating their product and service innovations to deliver help and hope to people living with dementia. This could include a simple product that makes an everyday task easier for a person living with dementia, or an innovative idea for a new service or way of working for care home staff. They provide up to £100,000 of funding.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund
As part of its Heritage 2033 strategy, the National Lottery Heritage Fund has launched three strategic initiatives offering targeted funding to address long-standing heritage issues across the UK. Nature Cities and Towns supports nature recovery in our cities and towns to help nature thrive, increase people’s connection to wildlife and make places better to live and work in. There will be one round of funding with grants available from £250,000 up to £1m. Deadline 12 noon 12 November
The Weavers' Company
The Benevolent Fund is the Charity through which the Company directs its main charitable giving and the Charitable Grants Committee apply the income to support work in the following areas of interest - Young Offenders, Prisoners and Ex-prisoners, Young disadvantaged people, especially those at risk of criminal involvement. Deadline 12noon 13 November
The Screwfix Foundation's clear charitable purpose is o support projects that improve, fix and repair buildings, homes and facilities specifically used by PEOPLE IN NEED throughout the UK. They donate grants in the region of £5,000 to charities and not for profit organisations. Prioritising those that will create a longer-term difference and where their donation will make an impact and fund the total cost (or the majority) of a project. Next deadline 10 Novmber 2024.
Sported is delighted to team up with Cash4Clubs to deliver another round of funding in 2024. Grants of £2000 (€2000 in Ireland) are available this autumn for community organisations working with adults from under-represented communities, delivering sport or physical activity for social purpose. Deadline 12 November 2024.
B&Q Foundation
They help registered charities who are supporting people in need in the UK – those experiencing homelessness, in financial hardship, impacted by health, disability, or other disadvantage or distress..They award grants of up to £10,000 for building or indoor projects, and up to £5,000 for garden projects. Deadline 15 November 2024 (6pm)..

Introduction to Corporate Community Partnerships

This is the first workshop as part of our Community Connections project in partnership with Business in the Community and funded by The Halifax Foundation. This workshop is for Voluntary and Community organisations that want more information on starting to work with corporate partners, and will explore the ways corporate partners can help, the benefits for both sectors and how to communicate your organisation’s objectives and social impact to potential partners.

Described as your written argument as to why you deserve to be funded, a compelling Case for Support can be a powerful tool to secure funding. This 3-hour session in NICVA aims to support those responsible for fundraising within voluntary and community organisations and who are unfamiliar with the use of Cases for Support in their work.
