Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council 2024/25 Grant Funding opening soon

Funding Roadshows will be held in December to provide those wishing to apply to our Grant Programme with further information and assistance.  These Roadshows will take place via zoom video conferencing where there will be a live presentation on all grants available from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council for 2024/25. Roadshows will take place via Zoom:

  • Monday 4th December 2023 @ 7pm
  • Tuesday 5th December 2023 @ 2pm

Enkalon Foundation

Enkalon Foundation has an annual budget of around £200,000 used to support ex-employees with healthcare equipment as well as charities and community groups to meet and deliver their core objectives through the General Fund. Applications to the General Fund may be for core running or project costs but must clearly demonstrate the need for the funding and how the group, users and wider community will benefit from it.  Enkalon Foundation is a small funder and whilst applications of up to £6000 are accepted the average grant is £1000. The Foundation is interested in applications towards education, health and saving lives, citizenship, community development, arts, culture, heritage or science, amateur sport, relief to those in need, and animal welfare. Deadline 21 February 2024.

Ageism Action Day: Micro-grants for Age-friendly Communities

As part of their campaign, which formally launches in January 2024, to highlight the issue of ageism in the UK, Ageing Better is running an Action Day with the aim of prompting people across the country to challenge the way age and ageing is represented. Micro-grants of £500 are available for community groups and local voluntary sector organisations who are part of the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities, to take part in this new annual Action Day and pilot programme. Deadline 10 January 2024.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation pausing programme

The Foundation is pausing new applications to the Arts Access and Participation Fund between 15 Dec 2023 and 1 Apr 2024. They are taking this time to review their application process and clarify their criteria. They will reopen the Fund in April with updated criteria. They do not expect a huge shift in the programme, instead they’re hoping a bit more clarity will support applicants better in what is a very competitive process.

Grow Wild: Community Project Funding

Grow Wild is offering grants of £2000 to twenty-five groups from across the UK to transform urban spaces for the benefit of people and wildlife by planting and championing UK native plants. The opportunity is more than just financial support - they’re seeking groups who are keen to engage with all aspects of the programme. Deadline 30 January 2024 (3pm).

£2 Million Winter Fuel Poverty Fund Launched

A new £2 million fund has been launched to provide energy and food support to vulnerable people across the UK during the winter months. The Cadent Foundation’s Winter Support Fund will allow charities offering energy and money guidance, to have rapid access to additional financial resources, helping to make an immediate impact for people needing extra support. The food and energy vouchers will be available to people who are living in the most vulnerable situations and who Cadent Foundations’ current charity partners, including the Trussell Trust and Citizens Advice, are supporting with energy efficiency and money management guidance. Each household will receive up to two vouchers, with the option of also having up to £100 to spend on essential heating and cooking appliances, such as heated blankets, slow cookers and air fryers. The funding will be distributed through the Foundation’s current charity partners, including Citizens Advice, Groundwork UK and Trussell Trust. Sport NI: Sports System Investment – Governing Bodies

In recognition of the strategic role sport governing bodies play, the Sports Systems Investment – Governing Bodies programme is the first strand of the sports systems investment to implement ‘The Power of Sport’. This investment is to enable the delivery of Outcome 1: People adopting and sustaining participation in sport and physical activity.  A programme budget of £100,000 is currently available for sports’ governing bodies to apply for, up to a maximum individual award of £25,000. Funding is for Governing Bodies currently in receipt of Sport NI Funding. Deadline 8 December 2023 (1pm). 

Community Foundation for NI: Tyrone Three Community Benefit Fund (Gortfinbar, Eshmore and Altamuskin)

Funding will be available to local community projects that are planned and run for the benefit of the local population and are within 7 miles of the centre of the three windfarms – as per map. The fund will support projects addressing issues within the following theme areas: Energy efficiency and sustainability, Social, cultural or sporting benefit for the local community, Educational issues with a sustainability angle, and Environmental benefit or economic benefit. Grants up to £5,000. Deadline 8 December 2023 (1pm).

PetPlan Charitable Trust Welfare Grants

Petplan Charitable Trust awards grants for the benefit of the health and welfare of dogs, cats, horses and rabbits. Applicants must have registered charity status. Funding size - £5,000 to £25,000. Deadline 11 December 2023. 

The Fore

The Fore make unrestricted grants which have the potential to have a transformational impact on an organisation. Transformational impact includes helping organisations become more sustainable, more efficient, to grow significantly or enabling an organisation to take a major step forward of some kind. Any UK-registered charities, CICs or CBSs with annual incomes under £500,000 are welcome to apply. Registration for the next round opens 6 December 2023 (noon) for one week, closing 13 December 2023 (noon). 

Good Relations Awards

The Good Relations Awards 2024 are now open for nominations. The Awards will spotlight the vital role that members of the community throughout Northern Ireland play in delivering peacebuilding and community cohesion. Deadline 19 December 2023 (noon).

NICVA is currently planning to host a Funding Fayre, 28 February 2024 from 10am to 3pm. There will be a wide range of funders, speakers, and information on offer including a chance to have one-to-ones with funders. Please check our website for further updates.

Fundraising Clinics returning February 2024

These popular, free fundraising advice clinics provide members with an hour-long chance to discuss and address specific fundraising needs.  The sessions can be delivered online, in-person or over the telephone. If you wish to secure a Fundraising Clinic before February, there may be availability for sessions in December and January. Please contact the Fundraising Advice Officer directly to be considered.
