Barclays Community Sport Fund: Female Coaches for Girls Grant

Through the Barclays Community Sport Fund, funding to increase the number of high-quality female coaches in the girls’ game is available to all clubs and groups that run football, cricket or tennis activities for girls and aspire to get more female coaches qualified. Grants range from £160 up to £200. Deadline 22 August 2025.

King Charles III Charitable Fund: Small Grants

The King Charles III Charitable Fund Small Grants Programme awards up to £3,000 per year, for up to three years, to approximately 100 UK registered nonprofit organisations each year. The small grants programme is now open applications for projects / activities across their education and heritage and conservation funding themes. The next application window will open 9am on the 6 August to 12 noon on 20 August supporting projects under their environment and countryside funding themes.

Belfast Citty Council’s new Community Support Plan Large Grant 

Community and voluntary groups can apply for funding up to a maximum £60,000 to support the delivery of programme activities under BCC's Community Support Plan Large Grants. Funding can cover Core running costs of community facilities, Programming and Staff Costs relating to the programme. Now open for applications until 12 noon on 6 October 2025.  Funding will last for three years; applications will not open again until summer 2028. Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland: THRIVE programme

THRIVE – a new grants programme celebrates the Foundation's 40th year and is made possible thanks to additional funding from their sole funder Lloyds Bank. THRIVE aims to support charities in providing financial advice, building financial resilience, delivering financial education, or encouraging good financial health among people in greatest need. Registered charities can apply for grants of up to £15,000 over 2 years. Opens for applications on 1st September 2025 and closes at 12 noon on 26th September 2025.

Henry Smith Foundation launches two schemes

In line with The Henry Smith Foundation’s new strategy, Elevate Your Impact (2025-2030), they have launched Shout! to make sure young people are heard, especially when the world does not listen. Focusing on organisations working with care-experienced young people, LGBT+ young people, and young people with learning disabilities and/or neurodivergences, eligible applicants can apply for up to £240,000 (£60,000 per year). Deadline 20 August 2025. Together We Begin will open 31 July funding organisations that provide early years parenting support and promote children’s development through sustained, face-to-face work in the home with up to £150k (£40-50k per year). Deadline for EOIs is 5pm on 28 August 2025.

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council: 'Sports Club Accelerator’ Fund

They have opened applications for the third year of the ‘Sports Club Accelerator’ Fund to provide much needed financial support to local sports clubs. Up to £3,000 is available exclusively for sports organisations to help meet the costs associated with their development. The fund is aimed at sports clubs located within the Lisburn and Castlereagh area who are affiliated to both a national governing body as well as their local sports advisory body, Sport Lisburn & Castlereagh. Deadline 8 August 2025.

Joseph Rowntree account registration deadline

Eligible registered, excepted or exempt charities based within any of the four jurisdictions of the UK must register for an account by 8 August for their Peace and Security funding scheme and by 18 August 2025 to apply to their Northern Ireland, Power and Accountability, and Sustainable Future schemes. 

Association of Independent Museums: Museum Fundamentals

Museum Fundamentals combines the existing invaluable collections care and conservation support from the Pilgrim Trust with new funding from the Julia Rausing Trust. The new grant will allow small and medium sized museums to create projects based on their collection needs, which improve knowledge, care and access to our nation’s heritage. Grant award: Up to £20,000. Deadline for EOIs is5pm on 8 August 2025.

Parkinson’s UK: Physical Activity Grants for marginalised communities

Marginalised communities in the UK can apply for up to £3,000 in funding as part of their new grants pilot. The grants will help more people with Parkinson's from marginalised communities to get active and to engage in local physical activity classes. Deadline 10 August 2025.

UK Government: Connect Fund

The Connect Fund awards funding to strengthen civic East-West collaboration on matters of shared interest, including mutual challenges and opportunities across a range of sectors that directly affect communities in Northern Ireland. Funding can be provided for both standalone/one off projects (e.g. attending a conference or facilitating a visit) or for a more recurrent project (e.g. establishing a UK-wide forum for community organisations). There will be two funding rounds; applicants can bid for £300 to £50,000.  Applications accepted on a rolling basis but must be submitted by the 10th of the month for a decision at the beginning of the following month starting August 2025.
