Leathersellers Company Charitable Fund: Small Grants opens 2 September

The Leathersellers’ Company Charitable Fund provides a wide range of funding. This is a rolling funding programme for one-off grants of up to £5,000. Applications will be considered from charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) registered and operating in the UK. Charities and CIOs must deliver activities to meet an identified need for vulnerable members of the community, have a planned expenditure of under £200,000 during the financial year in which you are applying for funding, and have at least one year’s published accounts. An application window will open a few weeks before each Trustee meeting and will close when 40 applications have been received. The next window opens 2 September at 10am.

The Robert McAlpine Foundation Grants

The Foundation was established by the family of Sir Robert McAlpine and gives grants to support small charities situated throughout the UK that fall within specific categories - namely children, youth, the elderly, social and medical research. They particularly like to support projects where their funding can make a real difference. Grants are usually between £5,000 and £10,000. The Foundation supports registered charities which meet the following criteria: Total income should be less than £1m per annum, the funds must be used for a UK-based project, and the work of the charity for which the appeal is being made must fall within their specified categories.

Fight for Sight: The social change fund

The social change fund exists to ignite and accelerate projects that will change the lives of blind and vision impaired people in the UK. Fight for Sight fund projects and programmes that drive connections, build confidence and understand what it means to be blind and vision impaired. They’ve funded projects tackling issues including loneliness and isolation, employment, and domestic violence and abuse. Funding is open to organisations from across the UK and will provide grants of up to £30,000. Deadline 14 October 2024 (23:59).

Cash for Kids Northern Ireland

Cash for Kids Northern Ireland is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most. Their grant rounds support children from birth up to and including 18 years of age who are vulnerable, come from disadvantaged backgrounds or are living with an illness or disability. They also provide a lifeline to many other charities, organisations and community groups, funding much-needed services and life-changing equipment. The value of a grant is typically from £1,000 to £3,000 but we will happily consider applications for larger amounts.

Electrical Safety Fund opens 2 September

They are committed to helping those who are most vulnerable to electrical risk and injury in their homes. These risks are increasing due to the cost-of-living crisis, rocketing inflation, and rising energy prices. In response to this, they fund local projects which aim to keep people safe in their homes with a focus on tackling risks associated with electrical products, increasing the public’s awareness of electrical safety, and promoting changes in behaviour. Applications are invited for grants of up to £5,000 per organisation.

Jerwood Foundation

Trustees will only consider applications for projects starting more than 3 months, but less than 12 months, from the funding round closing date. Winter application deadline 4 October 2024 (5pm).
