Community Ownership Fund Round 3 now open

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) announce new application window for the Community Ownership Fund, which has already seen a share of £1.3million given to six projects in Northern Ireland. Running until 2024/25, the £150 million Community Ownership Fund is for communities across the United Kingdom. It has been set up to help communities take ownership of assets at risk of closure. The deadline for applications for this funding round is 14 April 2023 at 11:59am.

PRSF: The Open Fund for Organisations

The PRS Foundation’s Open Fund for Organisations offers grants of up to £10,000 to support new music projects. Available to any not-for-profit organisation based in the UK with an eligible project supporting festivals, venues, promoters, talent development, curators and large performance groups such as orchestras, choirs, jazz bands or folk groups with 12 or more performers.

Windrush Justice Programme now UK wide

The second round of the Windrush Justice Programme is now open for applications if you’re based in the UK and provide advocacy support to those wishing to access the Windrush Compensation Scheme. Small grants of £22k (across two years) can be used to pay for case workers, cover administrative costs, venue costs, awareness raising events (please note events cannot be the only work you do around Windrush) and staffing costs.  Cannot fund lawyers but will cover travel and subsistence for any pro bono work lawyers are doing that connects the work your organisation is doing. 

Association of Independent Museums: Collections Care and Conservation Grants

These grants support small to medium sized museums with fewer than 50,000 visitors annually to care for their collections more effectively and efficiently as well as to meet the standards required for Accreditation. Grants of up to £10,000 available, funded by The Pilgrim Trust.  Larger museums are encouraged to apply for funding to the Pilgrim Trust directly.

Pilgrim Trust: Young Women’s Mental Health prioritises Northern Ireland

The Young Women’s Mental Health programme aims to help improve the mental health of women aged 16-25 in the UK. Committing £5 million over five years (2021-2026), their grants go to organisations that increase young women’s access to high quality, age and gender specific mental health services. Registered or exempt UK charities with an annual income of between £100,000 and £1 million, operating for at least three years and located in specified areas including the whole of Northern Ireland can apply for between £60k and £90k. You must Book a conversation with their Grants Manager between 15 May and 7 July; Applications open from 15 May to 7 August.

Greenhall Foundation opens 1 March 2023

Preference is given to appeals where the Foundation can meet a significant proportion of the funding required and to appeals where permanent equipment or building is required as opposed to funding salaries or the charity running costs. Starting from March 1st, 2023, UK-based registered charities will have the opportunity to apply for grants ranging from £1,000 to £10,000 to enhance the lives of people facing social and economic challenges, particularly amongst the sick, elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged populations in the UK. Application window closes when 150 applications received.

Grant Aid 1st Call for Community & Wellbeing, Community Premises Support, Good Relations, Irish in the Community, Remembering & Commemoration – Decade of Centenaries, Seeding, Summer Schemes 2023 – July/August, Ulster Scots in the Community, and Verti-Draining close 3 March 2023 (5pm).

Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council: King's Coronation

Applications for grants of £200 for one-off community events within the Council area to celebrate the coronation of His Majesty the King in May 2023 will close 3 March (Noon).

Heritage Crafts: Endangered Crafts Fund

Heritage Crafts invites craft practitioners and organisations in the UK to apply for grants to a maximum of £2,000 to support endangered crafts (the craft must be listed as endangered or critically endangered on the Red List of Endangered Crafts). Deadline 3 March 2023 (5pm).

BBC Appeal Broadcasts

Raise awareness and funds through the BBC’s Charity Appeals via regular network broadcast appeals for individual UK-based charities (weekly BBC Radio 4 appeals and the monthly Lifeline appeals on BBC One) and appeals for charities working in Northern Ireland and the English regions. Next deadline 6 March 2023 (23:59).
