LCCC King's Coronation Small Grants Programme 2023

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has introduced a small grants programme to support Community/Voluntary organisations based in and/or operating within Lisburn and Castlereagh who are wishing to develop and implement events, community festivals, volunteering opportunities and/or street parties to mark the Kings Coronation. Buckingham Palace has announced that the Coronation will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey. Applications for funding, up to a maximum of £500, must demonstrate how the proposal responds to the fund's priorities. Deadline NOON, 20 February.

DAERA Environmental Challenge Fund: Water Quality Improvement Strand

The Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) has launched the 2023/24 call for applications to the Water Quality Improvement Strand, which is part of its Environmental Challenge Fund Competition. The fund aims to invest in projects that will deliver improvements in the local water environment, help connect people with the environment, and encourage behavioural change. The fund is open to applications from constituted not-for-profit organisations and councils, and projects will run from spring 2023 until March 2024. The funding, subject to budget approval, will provide up to 85 % of funding for projects costing between £5,000 and £30,000.

McCarthy Stone Foundation: Winter Warm Spaces Support Grants - 2023

This year their Foundation would like to provide some support for the many small clubs and organisations across the country providing a regular warm space for older people in their community to come together, for example, lunch clubs, coffee mornings, or memory cafes. They are making £30,000 of funding available to 40 grassroots groups, often led by volunteers, who need a little extra help over the winter months.  Deadline 28 February.

Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation: Prize for Humanity

This annual 1 million euro prize aims to recognize outstanding, innovative and impactful work in climate change mitigation and adaptation. These awards recognize people, groups of people and/or organizations from all over the world whose contributions to mitigation and adaptation to climate change stand out for its novelty, innovation and impact. The Award is worldwide, so nominees can be from any country. Deadline for nominations is 17 March 2023.

Sea-Changers: Grants Programme

Sea-Changers gives one-off grants (i.e. not continual funding) to UK-based charities and ‘not-for-profit’ organisations including schools who are carrying out marine conservation related activities. They welcome applications from a wide variety of groups and entities. Small Grant applications up to £500 there is no deadline; for Main Grant applications of £500 up to £2,500 there are two deadlines per year (31 March and 30 September annually).

Building the Community Pharmacy Partnership (BCPP)

The programme aims to promote and support local communities to work in partnership with community pharmacists to address local health and social wellbeing needs using a community development approach. Open to constituted community/voluntary organisations and community pharmacies based in Northern Ireland as a partnership. Either can be the lead applicant but both partners must be named when applying. Round 44, Level 1 deadline 16 February 2023.

APEX: Community Spirit Grants

Applications for Apex’s Community Spirit Grants are now being accepted from individual tenants, community groups and non-profit organisations. Individual Apex tenants can apply for up to £250 to deliver a programme that will bring their community together or address an issue that has been highlighted by tenants. Community groups and non-profit organisations can apply for grants of up to £500 towards providing assistance and support to communities in which Apex tenants live. Deadline 17 February 2023.

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council: Arts Grants – deadline NOON 17 February 2023

  • LCCC Arts Grants Scheme - Arts Organisations 2023/24
    • The council’s Arts Grants Scheme for Arts Organisations has been designed to support both the amateur and professional arts sector in the delivery of arts events, projects or activities, which take place in the council area through the provision of direct grants. Up to £3,000 is available.
  • LCCC Arts Grants Scheme - Making Art in Communities (MAC) 2023/24
    • The Council’s Making Art in Communities (MAC) Arts Grants Scheme has been designed to support community groups in the delivery of arts events, projects or activities, which take place in the Council area through the provision of direct grants.  Up to £1,500 is available.

TESCO: Community Grants

Registered charities, voluntary and community organisations, schools, parish/town councils and other not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of £500, £1,000 or £1,500. Three projects from each local area will be shortlisted to go to the in-store public vote by Tesco customers. Currently the scheme will give priority to projects that provide food security and support to young people. Deadline 20 February 2023.

Linking Generations NI: All Ages April Grants now open

With grants of up to £125, the All Ages April funding aims to create connections across generations and organisations that wouldn’t normally work together. LGNI’s vision is that these connections and relationships will continue into the future. Activities can be a one-off event or a project delivered over a number of sessions promoting the value of incorporating Intergenerational and Age-friendly values into everyday practice. Deadline NOON 28 February 2023.

This session is suitable for fundraisers from the community, voluntary, and faith sectors who are new to grant applications or interested in refreshing their skills. We will explore funder expectations, what’s involved in completing funding applications and useful tips to articulating your needs.    

Free Fundraising Clinics for NICVA Members - next available session, March 2023

These popular, free fundraising advice clinics will return February 2023 to provide members with an hour-long chance to discuss and address specific fundraising needs.  These monthly events occur on the last Tuesday of each month from 10am until 4pm. The Clinics are extremely popular and tend to book up quick.
