Four Nations International Fund

The Four Nations International Fund, a co-investment fund from Arts Council England, Arts Council Northern Ireland, Arts Council Wales / Wales Arts International and Creative Scotland, supports those working in the arts and creative industries across the UK nations, together with European and beyond counterparts. The second round supports in-person, digital or hybrid activity including exchanges, residencies, partnership development, co-creation, and networking with grants of up to £7,500. The fund opens 16 August 2023 and closes 28 September 2023. To discuss ideas or questions ahead of making an application contact [email protected].

Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust opens for Round 3

The Trust gives grants to UK registered charities working in the UK.  They focus their grant giving on specific priorities every year. Rounds 3 and 4 will focus on children and young people in care and care leavers who continue to face disproportionate barriers. They continue to recognise that Black Lives Matter highlighted discrimination faced by the Global Majority, so across each grant round, applicants will be asked to detail how their project addresses these issues. Opens 1 July and closes 31 July 2023 for grants of £1,000. Round 4 opens 1 September for grants of £5,000.

Congregational and General Charitable Trust

This independent grant-making Trust makes contributes grants for the capital costs of community church projects. Grants range from a minimum of £1,000 to a maximum of £25,000 at 25% of total cost of projects costing less than £1 million.  Eligible applicants are United Reformed and Congregational denominations and other churches of the Protestant tradition. Next deadline 17 August 2023 (10am).

Family Holiday Association: Holiday Grants

The FHA works to promote the quality of family life for those parents and children who experience disadvantage as a result of poverty through the provision of and by promoting access to holidays and other recreational activities. Referrals to the scheme can be made by registered charities or statutory provided services including NHS. Referrers must register with them. Individual family and group trips eligible.  

Wolfson Foundation - Hospice Care Home Training Programme

Hospice UK administers the funding provided by the Wolfson Foundation. Funding contribute towards the cost of courses and study days, focused specifically on dementia care, run by a hospice (or group of hospices) in their locality. Courses must be CPD accredited. Grants of up to £2,000 per course are available.

Migrant Help: Community Hubs Grant Scheme

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for not-for-profit organisations to start a new community hub, or expand an existing hub, in order to support asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of modern-day slavery in the UK. Priority will be given to individuals and organisations who have not previously received funding from Migrant Help. Two levels of funding available: Small bridging loan of up to £2000 and Sustainability & start up grants up to £5,000. Revenue, core, and capital costs eligible. No deadlines, but fund closes once the annual allocation has been exhausted. Next deadline 31 July 2023.  Application form and guidelines are available on request by emailing [email protected].

Upcoming Deadlines

National Churches Trust: Large Grants

This programme offers their largest grants of up to £50,000 towards the cost of major urgent structural repair projects costed at more than £80,000 including VAT. They will also consider projects that introduce facilities such kitchens and accessible toilets to increase community use, costed at more than £30,000 including VAT. Grants will never exceed 50% of the project cost. Deadline: 4 July (midnight).

Weavers' Company Benevolent Fund

Weaver Company Benevolent Fund's principal aim is to support people in trouble, particularly young offenders and ex-offenders, and other disadvantaged young people particularly those at risk of criminal involvement. Organisations must normally be registered charities or in the process of applying for registration. The Company will consider funding up to £15,000 per annum. Next deadline 6 July 2023 (noon).

PRSF: The Open Fund for Organisations

The Open Fund for Organisations offers grants of up to £10,000 to any not-for-profit organisations based in the UK with an eligible project including non-music organisations such as local authorities, museums, etc. Funding supports new music projects led by promoters, talent development organisations, venues, festivals, curators and large performance groups (i.e., 12 + performers). Deadline 10 July 2023 (6pm).

The National Archives: Archives Revealed

This partnership funding programme from The National Archives, The Pilgrim Trust and the Wolfson Foundation aims to ensure significant archive collections, representing the lives and perspectives of all people across the UK, are made accessible to the public for research and enjoyment. Archives Revealed has two funding strands: Scoping Grant provides up to £3,000 to fund an external expert consultant to report on collections management and development . And the Cataloguing Grants programme which provides grants of up to £45,000 for the cataloguing of archives. Next Scoping Grant deadline 12 July 2023 (Cataloguing grant opening early 2024).

NEW - Free Online Introductory Fundraising Workshops for NICVA Members

Throughout Autumn 2023, we will host a series of FREE workshops for NICVA members introducing a different fundraising topic or aspect of fundraising.

These sessions are an opportunity to find out about an area of fundraising that's new to you, top up your existing knowledge, or be a snapshot into an element of fundraising you'd like to explore. Each workshop is led by NICVA’s Fundraising Advice Officer.
