Belfast City Council Small Grants: Community Festivals Fund

The Community Festivals Fund is jointly funded by Belfast City Council and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure to recognise the role that festivals can play in increasing social cohesion, celebrating cultural identity and strengthening community relations. Funding is available for Arts and heritage activities; and other cultural events that contribute to the cultural identity of an area or group and celebrate the uniqueness of that area or group. The minimum request is £2,500 and the maximum award is £10,000 per festival and you can apply for funding for more than one festival in each application round.   The festival must start and end within the timeframe for this tranche of funding, that is, 1 April 2016 to 30 September 2016 and at least 20% of the project budget (in cash or in kind) should come from sources other than Belfast City Council.

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council: Arts Grant Scheme - Individual Artists & Arts Organisations

This scheme provides grants to assist arts events, projects or related activities up to £3,000 for individual artists, (born or residing in) and arts organisations, (based in) the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area.  The maximum grant awarded is expected to be £3,000 although most grants are likely to be in the region of £1000.   Organisations/Individuals must also apply for funding at least 3 months in advance of the proposed event, project or activity taking place.  For Individual Artists projects should demonstrate a long-term impact for arts development of individuals, encourage an increase in the number of creative and performing artists, be new and innovative, offer value for money, improve administration and marketing and demonstrate equal opportunity for all sections of the community.  For Arts Organisations projects should Improve access to the arts, encourage a lively relationship between the arts and those who live in the area, promote the arts throughout the community, support and encourage best practice in the arts, contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of the area and enhance the image of the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area.

Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht: Co-operation with Northern Ireland

During 2016 the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht is running a funding Scheme for creative and innovative projects which enhance, celebrate or commemorate the artistic, cultural, musical, film or heritage of the Island of Ireland on a North/South basis.  Projects should promote co-operation and joint initiatives between organisations and institutions on a North/South basis, promote cultural tourism on a North/South basis or promote the provision of cultural outreach programmes on a North/South basis.

Royal British Legion: Royal British Legion External Grants

The Royal British Legion offers funding for specialised projects or services for serving and/or ex-Service personnel and/or their families that are not already being provided by the Legion and that are in line with the Legion’s funding priorities.  The priorities are employment and training, family support, homelessness and outreach and supporting the elderly.  Open to all charities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that have been operating for at least 2 years.

UK German Connection: UK German Connection Challenge Fund

The Challenge Fund provides support for joint projects between UK and German partner schools, including mutual visits, and is designed to inspire young people from the UK and Germany to get involved in relevant thematic interaction, collaboration and learning.  Projects must involve a UK-German school partnership where at least ten pupils from both schools are participating in trips to the other country involving project work.  The maximum grant available is £5,000 to be shared between the schools involved.

Fidelio Charitable Trust

This scheme provides support for Institutions, colleges, Arts Festivals and other arts organisations across the UK, particularly in the fields of dramatic and operatic arts, music, speech and dance.  Grants are provided for individuals or groups of exceptional ability to receive special tuition or coaching, participate in external competitions or receive support for a specially arranged performance or publication, musical composition or work of art.  Fidelio's funds are limited so no single grant will normally be greater than £5,000 and Fidelio may be able to only part-fund a project or activity.
