New or Updated Funds

Nesta: Rapid Recovery Challenge (Closing 12 Noon, 26th October)

A £2.8 million, Nesta’s Rapid Recovery Challenge to find and scale tools and services that improve access to jobs and money for people within the UK, focusing on those hardest hit by the economic shock resulting from COVID-19.

Aviva Community Fund (Round 5 Opening 19th October)

Up to 50K for projects working in their 2 key funding areas of community resilience and financial capability and inclusion.  Voted for by employees, using 250K per quarter.

Food for Life Get Togethers: Small Grants

Small grants of £150 from June 2020 to April 2021 to support community led food growing, cooking and sharing activity and Get Togethers.  Aims to get more people eating healthily, strengthen communities and reduce experience of loneliness and social isolation. 

Allchurches Trust: Hope Beyond Grants programme

Grants of up to 50K to enable churches and Christian charities to meet changing community needs, helping them and their communities to adapt to COVID-19. 

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council: Recover Grant Aid Programme (Round 3 Closing Date, 5pm, 20th November)

Grants for local organisations to support their recovery and reanimation of activities in line with the NI Executive’s five stage Coronavirus recovery plan.  (Average grant amount: £500).

Armed Forces Covenant Fund: Force for Change Programme (Round 2 Closing Date, 12 Noon on 30th November)

Grants of up to 20K for projects supporting Armed Forces communities to become less isolated and engage more in their local area. 

Dates to Note

COVID Social Enterprise Fund (Now open for applications and closing 5pm, 23rd October)

Aims to distribute £7m of grant funds to support social enterprises as they seek to stabilise and manage cashflow during this difficult period. Managed by Community Finance Ireland (CFI) and providing grants of up to 75K. 

African Health Policy Network: BAME Healthy Communities Surviving COVID-19 Grants (Closing Date (12 Midnight, 30th October)

Funding for small and medium sized BAME groups to build wellbeing, resilience and capacity following the pandemic. 3 grant sizes, up to 5K, up to 10K and micro grants of £500 to 1K.

Community Foundation NI: IFA Inclusive Clubs Programme – Disability New Needs (Closing 9am, 2nd November)

Managed by the Community Foundation for NI, this scheme provides grants of up to £500 for football clubs developing a disability section, and who wish to encourage participation from everyone in society and to meet new needs arising from COVID-19.
