Who needs a cheap or free donor management database?
Neil Irwin, Member Services Manager at NICVA, is asking volunteer and professional fundraisers if they is any need for a cheap or free donor management tool.
"I have wondered for some time if fundraising organisations here could use a simple database designed to manage the contact they have with donors." said Neil
"I have thought often about creating a basic database with all the main essential features so organisations without a big budget to spend would have some way of keeping in tocuh with donors.." he added.
The software envisaged being of use would feature some of the following features:
- Donor Contact Details
- Brief Donor Profile Information
- Donations Records
- Gift Aid Audit Information
- Income Reports
- Mailing Lists
"I read reports that Google is soon to launch a 'cloud database' which would enable a database to be managed online. While this may be an imminent development I have started work on a sample DonorTracker database and would be keen to hear what people would want from a free - or very cheap donor management database." said Neil
Neil has opened a topic in the fundraising Information Group on http://www.communityni.org/content/donor-management-database and would welcome comments on this initiative.
