Snooze You Lose? Dormant Accounts Pre-Consultation
NICVA is convening a roundtable discussion on dormant accounts on 31 January 2008 at 2.00pm.
We are seeking your views ahead of a Government consultation planned for the Spring. This event is particularly relevant for you if your role, or part of it, is to influence government funding policy whether for your own organisation or on behalf of a network or sub-sector you represent.
You are therefore invited to register for the roundtable meeting to discuss the issue of where the recovered assets funding should be spent and how the sector can respond on the issue.
NICVA is seeking to gauge opinion and ideas on how the funds will be allocated, searching for areas of consensus on how the whole sector might benefit from the initial windfall and ongoing resources from this new source of funds.
It is anticipated that dormant accounts could initially amount to more than £500 million across the UK, with tens of millions of pounds recurring annually thereafter. Northern Ireland will benefit alongside the other UK Administrations, on a population basis. Initially, additional resources have been estimated at between £10 million and £20 million in Northern Ireland, with hundreds of thousands of pounds each year thereafter.
Those interested in attending can register with Georgie Finlay or for more information contact Neil Irwin on 028 9087 7777 or email georgie.finlay@nicva.org or neil.irwin@nicva.org
