Rural Development Programme open in Down
The Down Rural Area Partnership, has been charged with administering the funds under Axis 3 of the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.
The programme aims to "improve the quality of life in rural areas and encouraging diversification of economic activity in rural areas by supporting a wide range of projects."
Down Rural Area Partnership (DRAP) seeks applications from farmers/farm families, private individuals aged over 18, private companies or partnerships, social economy organisations, local councils and non departmental public bodies who wish to apply for funding for potential projects. Projects should be based within, or demonstrate impact with the rural local authority area of Ards, Banbridge, Down and North Down. The first call for applications is open for the following specific measures:
- Measure 3.1 - Diversification into Non-Agricultural Activities
- Measure 3.2 - Support for Business Creation and Development
- Measure 3.3 - Encouragement of Tourism Activities
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 19 August 2009 at 4.00pm.
Public information sessions have been organised to assist applicants. These sessions will be held at:
- St Patrick's Centre, Lower Market Street, Downpatrick - Thursday 2nd July 2009 - 7.30pm - 9.00pm
- F.E. McWilliam Gallery, Newry Road, Banbridge - Tuesday 7th July 2009 - 7.30pm - 9.00pm
