Peace II Extension Programme Measure 2.1 - Reconciliation for Sustainable Peace (Outward and Forward Looking Region)
Eligible Projects -
Applicants must demonstrate that their projects will address or accomplish the following:
- participation in international conflict resolution and peace-building networks to enable international best practice in these fields to be applied to the peace processes in Northern Ireland;
- regional and inter-regional project activity to develop an awareness of best practice and develop partnerships and linkages outside the region;
- actions to promote linkages with other European regions including opportunities to learn from their experience and to share good practice in the themes outlined below.
Eligible themes -
- Young people
- Race relations
- Conflict transformation/community relations
Applicants to this Measure will also have to clearly demonstrate how the proposed project would address the following aims of Measure 2.1:
- Addressing the legacy of the conflict (i.e. help to create a normal and peaceful society by addressing specific problems caused by 'The Troubles'); and/or
- Taking opportunities arising from peace (i.e. focus on opportunities which are now possible as a result of peace).
Applicants who do not meet the prerequisites of the 'Eligible Projects' or fully address the 'Eligible Themes' listed above need not apply.
