All areas of Northern Ireland are benefitting from an increase in the quality of community music-making thanks to the Instruments for Bands Funding Programme according to the Arts Council. The programme helps bands to replace worn-out instruments and purchase new ones.
Belfast community festival organisers are being invited to a series of information sessions to hear about new funding arrangements in the city by Belfast City Council. The new fund opens on 2 September and closes on 19 September 2008.
Six strategic priorities have been identified for the North West (Derry, Omagh and Strabane) and a total budget of £4.733 million is available to help deliver the range of priorities identified in the local action plan.
The Department for Regional Development wishes to announce the next round of the Rural Transport Fund Voucher Scheme. This scheme is aimed at rural community groups and organisations wishing to transport 17 or more passengers.
The scheme will provide a £100 voucher towards the cost of transport for successful applicants.
