The Institute of Fundraising NI is delighted to announce that Shivonne Graham, National Fundraising Manager at Comic Relief, will be addressing this year’s annual convention.

This year’s Red Nose Day has raised £78,237,675 so far and has been the most successful campaign to date. Shivonne will be sharing how the recession became her worst fear and greatest friend in the run up to Red Nose Day.

As National Fundraising Manager at Comic Relief, Shivonne leads the team responsible for driving and supporting fundraising with the general public, schools and youth, customers and employees. Before Comic Relief, Shivonne was Head of Events and Corporate Fundraising at Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres and Head of Corporate, Community and Events at Shelter.

The Annual Convention, sponsored this year by Unity Trust Bank, PT Design and Print and Bruce Tait Associates, is aimed at encouraging, motivating and skilling local fundraisers to face the challenges of today’s difficult economic climate.

It will consider how the recession will impact on the charity sector and what practical steps organisations can take to counteract the negative affects of the economic downturn.

The event takes place on 25 June 2009 at the Ramada Hotel, Belfast.
