Centre for Social Justice awards 2010
The CSJ Awards recognise and reward effective poverty fighting groups from across the UK. Prizes of up to £10,000 each will be awarded in July 2010 at a ceremony attended by senior politicians, celebrities, business people, philanthropists and the media.
If you are a charity, small voluntary group, or other project tackling poverty or helping to turn lives around in your local area, then CSJ want to hear from you. You do not need to have charitable status to apply.
Winning organisations will be focused, practical, entrepreneurial, driven by conviction, motivated by compassion, and working to address the causes and not just the symptoms of poverty. Most importantly, the CSJ is looking for those who help people out of poverty and/or reverse social breakdown, regardless of the size or budget of the organisation.
How to apply
There is no application form. Simply describe in 500 words or less how your organisation makes an exceptional contribution to tackling poverty and turning lives around. Describe what you do and the services you offer, giving details of the things that make your approach innovative, unique or outstanding.
Please include:
- key statistics
- number of employees and volunteers
- annual turnover and sources of funding
- case study of a typical beneficiary of your organisation
- contact details and website
Groups form Northern Ireland are applicable. In 2008 West Kirk Community Project, a Christian community project meeting a broad range of needs of young people in deprived Shankhill Road area of Belfast won an award.
