The Southern Councils Peace III Partnership will commit £4,113,346 to Programmes under its local action plans. The Southern Councils cluster is led by Newry and Mourne District Council in partnership with Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon.

Lisburn Castlereagh Peace III Partnership announced at the Peace Roadshow last night in the Island Centre that they will soon be opening a Small Grants Programme and seeking expression of interest for other programmes.

The South West Peace III partnership announced at the Peace III Roadshow in Cookstown that it will open its grants programmes in March 2009 will also soon be advertising four tendering opportunities. The South West Partnership will fund in Cookstown, Dungannon and South Tyrone, Magherafelt and Fermanagh district council areas.

10 Strategic Programmes have been identified for the North East Peace Cluster made up of the council areas of Larne, Ballymena, Moyle, Ballymoney, Limavady and Coleraine with a budget of £3,608,589 million available.

Six strategic priorities have been identified for the North West (Derry, Omagh and Strabane) and a total budget of £4.733 million is available to help deliver the range of priorities identified in the local action plan.

Coleraine Borough Council, on behalf of the North East Peace III Joint Committee and Peace III Partnership wish to invite Registers of Interest from Delivery Agents interested in delivering a range of strategic programmes.  These programmes are aimed at challenging attitudes towards sectarianism, racism and supporting conflict resolution and mediation within the Cluster areas.

Belfast City Council has been awarded 6.3 million under priority 1.1 of the EU Peace III Programme. This programme supports peace and reconciliation and runs from 2008 to 2010. One element of this will be a small grants programe.

Local Councils had been required to group together to deliver funding under the Peace III and Rural Development Programmes reflecting the proposed new 'Super' Council structure. However, only two of the council groupings are the same under both programmes.
